CANARY CHARGE 0 Posted July 24, 2009 Coventry City FC to sign Sammy Clingan Jul 24 2009 COVENTRYCITY were today set to make their first long awaited signing of thesummer with the arrival of Norwich midfielder Sammy Clingan. The25-year-old Northern Ireland international was at the Ricoh Arenahaving a medical today and expected to complete his personal termsbefore putting pen to paper on a three year deal with the Sky Blues. City,who agreed a fee with the Canaries several weeks ago, are understood tobe making a cash payment up front on the deal that will eventually beworth £1 million to Norwich subject to the amount of appearances theplayer makes. His signing will come as a huge relief tomanager Chris Coleman who has been trying to sign the centralmidfielder all summer, and will go some way to restoring a bit ofconfidence among supporters concerned that the club are selling theirbest players and not bringing many in.
