MAN IN THE STANDS returns

Recommended Posts

A voice of sanity returns, then. Or will he be gagged by the clubs new board member???

A nation, well Norfolk, awaits.

.In this case Stephan Phillips would have been doing Man in the Stands a favour if he''d spiked this particular piece.I

know it''s not meant to be Shakespeare (the misquotation from

Shakespeare in the non sequitur of an intro is probably the clue there)

but I did think the idea was to make some kind of rough sense. But for

the life of me I have no idea what the following sentence means:"Only this time round, a cantankerous full house beats an optimistic flush every time."Can anyone out there shed any light on this seemingly incomprehensible poker analogy? Or on this piece of prose:"Joining the board smacks of past mistakes, but at least we have three newbies helping to make better fist of things."As the departed Dr Who was fond of saying, WHAT? WHAT?? WHAT???

TBH I thought a lot of his comments were rather bitter and I won''t be bothering with the new version, board-friendly or not.

Well I can confirm without doubt that a ''Full House'' beats a ''Flush'' in Poker. But what thats got to do with football I have no idea. Its like he came up with the idea that a Full House was a Poker hand and also could apply to a football crowd and so wanted to make some funny/witty comment with a double meaning. Unfortunately he failed miserably. Bring back the Real Man In the Stands!

This League 1 version is a pale imitation

MITS for the last few  seasons was Premiership quality.

He had the happy knack of putting in words what I was feeling .

Together with a unique writing style.

Short sentences.

Very witty! Surely Pete reads the threads he starts?

Perhaps it could be alternated weekly - MITS & TITS!

Are you a Kentish Lass or a Lass from Kent? [:)]

[/quote]I believe we are onto something here? In order to add some real spice, once a month it could be "female in the stands"that would be very appropriate!![:(]
