Dr. William Gilbert Grace

"They've come here to see me bat, not you bowl"

Recommended Posts

There is a similar quote also attributed to the Doctor, after being given out:"They''ve come to see me bat, not you umpire."Perhaps we should have a football-adapted version ready for the next time Andy D''Urso is the referee...

Of course i only let Palmer bowl me out after receiving an order from cityangel. I duly shoulders arms a straight one. Oh, the noise, a terrible terrible noise of ball on stump. Kerplunktik! I WAS GONE, BUT I WOULD RETURN, AND IN GREATER NUMBER.....

WG, I don''t have a moment''s doubt, of course, that you are who you say you are. But, just to check for those of little faith, I have this impressive photograph of heavily-bearded you coming out on to the field at Lakenham as captain of London County on August 3rd, 1903 (12 years before you were erroneously said to have died!!!).So, to confirm your identity, who is the wicket-keeper striding out along side you???
