Assuming Theo is any good (and being aussie keeper of the year goes some way to prove his credentials)..

Recommended Posts

is that the defence virtually sorted?GK- Rudd, TheoLB- Drury CB- Spillane, Nelson, Doherty, StefanovicRB- Spillane, OtsemoborFor give me but I''m not clued up on the younger defenders so I havent included them- feel free, I have added Spillane to CB and RB because arguably he can play in both positions well.Would anybody else agree with me that a new LB would complete our defence? I must re-iterate that I''m not totally sure about the young defenders so if we have a capable young LB then IMO the defence is sorted. I dont get the abuse that Theo has got for ''being a free transfer''- wasnt Sammy Clingan?

spillane is only a part time RB in truth, and semi needs to be shot..im not a far of drury, so i think we need 2 on each side to be honest.centre backs are reasonably well catered mind.

I don''t get the problem with Theo being a free transfer either. He was outstanding last year, was offered a new contract, but turned it down because he wanted to move to Europe. He had already been to Norwich and was impressed. His Aussie contract ended on 30th June, and he signs for us 8 days later. He''s a big character, and used to winning I''m no foolish optimist but I can''t see any negatives in this signing at all.

Still need a new RB and LB in my opinionSpillane out of natural position (yes I know he played there at Luton) and Otsemobor doesn''t fill me with high hopes.
habergham- full backstephens- centre backdumic- centre back/defensive mid
Cheers.Just to add:                 TheoSpillane  Doherty Stefanovic Drury New Rm  Clingan OTJ  Hoolahan

would do me very very nicely.  Is that 9 good enough for promotion from League 1? And yes I am aware that I''m not including strikers...

I also wouldn''t play Otsemobor at RB, but i''d play him at RM instead.

Gill in place of OTJ IMO. I''ve got high hopes for Gill.

On what deluded basis do you arrive at Drury being awful but still wanting to find a place in the team for one of the worst full backs i have ever seen at Carrow Road.

Just curious?

My friends down under assure me that Theo is actually a really good keeper - lucky to have him. Think the team is shaping up really nicely.

GK- Rudd, Theo

LB- Drury

CB- Spillane, Nelson, Doherty, Stefanovic

RB- Spillane, Otsemobor

Drury hasnt been great last couple of seasons agreed but he was once a very capable left back.  If he is finally fully fit then IMO he will be more than good enough for league one.  Lets not forget either that Semmy was in the team of the season for league one when he was at Crewe, is this his level?  Defence is now sorted for me, time to concentrate on a big striker and someone for right midfield.

We must, must, must find a competant left back capable of challenging Adam Drury. While I agree that Drury is good enough if fit, surely we cannot rely on him being totally fit and firing in the circumstances.

Here endeth the lesson.

Of course, if we sell Sammy and Wes, it would be a massive reduction in quality.Don''t forget Nelson at the back either.

I  would take him as well, played 4 games for Man Utd last year...... and got League Cup winners medal!
