Pre-season Friendly results are a Pointer to the Forthcoming Seasons

Recommended Posts

True or False?

Certainly true in Peter Grants era- losing to unknown lower league foreign

teams.

So who can recall GR s results or Worthy''s in the poor period.

Maybe they reflect on the true mood and spirit within the camp as opposed to

the compulsory mealy  mouthed party line.

No deliberate intention to cause anxiety before todays game but more to hopefully seed feelings of optimism.

True to some extent - scoring goals and playing well might actually give them at least some confidence to play with next season until we all start getting on their backs again.

On the other hand I seem to remember Spurs having a fantastic pre-season last year, and then never really took that into the start of the season!

I don''t think there is any magic formula really - we just have to do everything that we can to put ourselves in the best possible position to win games come the new season.

Law #13 of the Pink Un message board:
  • If you beat a team in a friendly, it doesn''t prove anything as these games are meaningless.
  • If you draw, or lose to, a team in a friendly, it proves that Norwich City are ruined and destined for relegation.
