Insightful as always Captain Obvious.

Can''t wait for your next post. What will it be? Something like "Notice how the temperature is usually hotter in summer compared to winter?"

The key turning point for me was the unnecessary appointment of Peter Grant.

At that stage we were still an attractive club which could have lured an experienced and talented manager but instead we shot ourselves in the foot by appointing a man with no hot seat experience. He has since gone on to remain firmly next to rather than on the managerial spot on the bench.

His transfer policy and inability to revive and inspire the team after the Worthy rot is, in my mind, the largest reason behind our current predicament. Roeder did well to slow the momentum but he inherited a poisoned chalice ... even if he did add some of his own potions to the cup too! The board''s decision to approach Grant was bizarre, illogical and ultimately fatal.

For me also it was the appointment of Peter Grant.
This coupled with giving to him and trusting him with one of the biggest transfer kitties we have seen.

Still looking with your retro-specs on Bly!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Amazingly, we are all blessed with it!

One love! [;)]

Really? I didnt see that..... I saw him get less than we got for Earnshaw, and the wage bill being cut with the departure of Safri......

He did blow almost all of his transfer budget on Cureton and Marshall..... but if anything, I doubt he spent as much as Roeder when factoring in wages and signing on fees....

Juan Velasco, Antoine Sibierski, Arturo Lupoli, Dejan Stefanovic....... I bet we would all cry if we saw their pay cheques chicken.

Well, Lappy, I see that in the future we shall continue to be blessed with Simon Lappin.

Should we be over the moon?

One love.

For me it would be doing away with the Norwich and District Pipe Band as half time entertainment.

I think we can all agree that was a disasterous decision, the ramifications of which are still bitterly felt at Carrow Road.

Why ask me Lappy? I mean we all have hindsight, eh!

Simon has been with us a couple of years or so now earning quite handsomely in the reserves.

Let''s see you deploying your hindsight to inform your foresight concerning his likely contribution to the cause over the next season or so.

Bet you duck out.[:P]

OTBC
You really should be able to answer your own questions dear boy.

Bit like poor old Michael''s "what would you do?"

Still, no-one''s been able to give him an answer either!

Ah well.

I presume that this is the "answer" to how to raise shedloads of cash to enable us to cruise to succesive promotions and get us back in the Premiership? You have mentioned this before and knowing you, you are talking out of your arse again. You do not have a plan or a formula that would be workable and is so fantastically clever that you need to be paid for it.

We were a laughing stock long before this happened.

The turning point was selling our soul to Saviour Smith and forgetting who we were as a club.....

selling mackay and bringing in no real replacement

selling earnie and not bringing in a decent replacement

similar with players such as etuhu - had his critics but imo far better than russel, fozzy and pattison.

never spending particularly big in the summers after promotion and relegation.

a lot of it wasnt on the pitch imo

I wouldn''t disagree.

It just depends upon how one defines ''recent''.
