At that stage we were still an attractive club which could have lured an experienced and talented manager but instead we shot ourselves in the foot by appointing a man with no hot seat experience. He has since gone on to remain firmly next to rather than on the managerial spot on the bench. His transfer policy and inability to revive and inspire the team after the Worthy rot is, in my mind, the largest reason behind our current predicament. Roeder did well to slow the momentum but he inherited a poisoned chalice ... even if he did add some of his own potions to the cup too! I saw him get less than we got for Earnshaw, and the wage bill being cut with the departure of Safri...... He did blow almost all of his transfer budget on Cureton and Marshall..... but if anything, I doubt he spent as much as Roeder when factoring in wages and signing on fees....Juan Velasco, Antoine Sibierski, Arturo Lupoli, Dejan Stefanovic....... You have mentioned this before and knowing you, you are talking out of your arse again.
