How did you do with those Canaries' Mastermind questions?

Recommended Posts

I didn''t watch the Mastermind programme when that City fan answered questions on NCFC as his specialist subject, but I saw the questions (and answers) in the EDP today and so had a go myself. I was quite pleased with my 7 correct answers (without cheating). I should really have had 8 correct with the Percy Varco question. Did anybody match the Mastermind contestant''s excellent 12 out of 14, or even do better than him?

You got 7?!

I was pleased with 5: although I hope age has something to do with it - the early ones really aint something to know about unless you''ve done your homework!

Depends whether the questions suit you or not. I was a bit disappointed that I didn''t do better to be honest, although if I read up on the subject, as the guy on Mastermind, did I would expect to do better.

I got 8 correct out of the 14.  The questions I got wrong 3,4,7,8,12,13, but I should have got the Percy Varco one.

Dear Tara Greaves/MastermindIt is Internazionale or Inter. There is no such team as Inter Milan. Don''t even get me started on ''Bayern Munich''.Yours sincerelyA. Pedant[:P]

I got 6 (should have been 7 but couldn''t recall the answer to 1. on the spur of the moment) - but imo that''s not so bad, no real way of knowing many of those without a fair bit of revision, rather a lot relate to pre-WWII and I just wasn''t around then (nor was I in the 1960s)!

And they play at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium! Hasn''t been called the San Siro for years but you wouldn''t know that from the English press. I confess to a sort-of nine but only because, looking at the questions in the EDP, I made the connection with the Cornish-sounding name and guessed that answer. In the chair, under the lights, it would have been only eight. But good to see a mention of Gordon Bolland. A  favourite player.

I remembered the answer to question one from our Centenary celebration year (2002?). Gunny appeared at the "Criterion Cafe" as part of his duties as Sheriff of Norwich, dressed in full regalia. Of course, the building is no longer a cafe; I believe it''s now Moss Bros or something similar and it''s situated on White Lion Street.

I got 6, disappointed I got the Ron Saunders question wrong.

It is Moss Bros, there''s a plaque on the wall 2 ft into the alley and about 10ft in the air mentioning the fact.....you have to look for it. It looks a relativley modern building, does anyone know if it''s the same building?? or was the original building was knocked down?

I thought AC termed the stadium San Siro, and Inter termed it Guiseppe Meazza? At least thats what my tour guide said when she showed me around there last Easter!!!
