james norwich 0 Posted June 9, 2009 "I know their coach has watched DVD''s of my games. He liked what he saw and invited me out. I honestly believe my pass and move game is suited to Spanish football." Mark Fotheringham Evening News 9.6.2009.Dear Mark,Q1. As a season ticket holder please can you let me know which DVD''s the Spanish coach saw. I saw all of your home performances amd some of the away games - enough for a series of Harry Hill''s "You''ve been framed" but nothing to write home about. Q2. How is your game suited to Spanish football? Perhaps a midnight kick about on a beach in Ibiza but nothing more.I honestly can''t see Fotheringham staying any more than a year at a club. 6 month''s benefit of the doubt followed by 6 months to be shown the door. I can''t name a poorer club captain in living memory.

My game is suited to Spain because I can pass and move. Its a shame that I cant do the two things at the same time, but I might be able to do another flick in my trial and blag my way to another contract. I hear that their manager is as clueless as Glen Roeder, so you never know.

Steve Finnan (didnt know this, but hes still a cut above Fozzy!)I am convinced that his ''fozzy flick'' has given him a career in the same way that Paul Dalglish''s surname gave him his! The Walking Man 13 Posted June 10, 2009 Perhaps Fozzy is like Clint Easton, only a "good" (I use that word very loosely) when the sun is shining. If that''s the case Spain should suit him just fine [Y]
The ghost of Michael Theoklitos 0 Posted June 10, 2009 I believe the pass & move game he''s referring to is the part where Fozzy passes the ball, and the player he''s passing to has to move very fast to where the pass was misplaced.

Bury Green 0 Posted June 10, 2009 Pass and move was it Mark, I must have been having a snooze when that one happened. Dare I suggest old chum that your first touch was a shot and your second touch was an attempted tackle that you invariably lost, how pray tell is this going to assist you in Spain, don’t they have a league in Ascension Island? AJ 1,218 Posted June 10, 2009 In fairness, everyone knows that on his day Fozzy was a very good player, one that could pass the ball well and split defences. However, his lack of consistancy, just like the rest of the team, cost us and in turn his place in the squad. kennyfoggo 0 Posted June 10, 2009 He says: he "won''t commit to anything".Nothing new there then... Think he had the ability to be a half decent player, but his ego seemed to get in the way, thought he was better than he actually is, was also too fond of pointing the finger, thats OK if you can walk the walk also. Binky 0 Posted June 10, 2009
Would Gill get a trial at Espanyol or Derby ?
He might if he talked the talk like Fotheringham and had the same agent. (Would Clingan have got a trial?). I think I am right in saying that despite having several trials in England (eg Leeds and Southampton), the only English club to take Fotheringham on was Norwich. By a Scottish manager who was finding it very hard to attract players to uproot and live under our wide open skies. (Really good players can sometimes lose form. Just average players can sometimes have some very good games. For me the lad just hasn''t got anything special - he should recognise that, knuckle down and work hard, keep his mouth shut and be thankful for whatever comes his way).
