What is going on, if anything?

Recommended Posts

Is it not the time for the truth to come out from Carrow Road ?. Every day we read of signings by much smaller, lower league clubs than us. We read of retained lists from Blue Square Premier league clubs, reports of Hartlepools 6th signing of the close season, Cambridge Uniteds new striker etc etc. What do we get?  Big Nothing again like every other close season.  We don''t even have a retained list, do we? Is the club so skint that we can not sign some new blood now, or is something really going on behind closed doors that we know nothing of ?

For your own sanity I would suggest anticipating very little happening for a very long time! Players are off recouperating on foreign beaches and it''s too early for clubs to start accepting offers on their players.

The reality will be this = 4 or 5 current players leaving, 1 or 2 more teenagers being promoted, 6 or 7 previously unheard of League One & Two signings for minimal money and 1 or 2 loans from Premiership or Scottish Academies.

It might be such a dull and gloomy transfer window for NCFC that I''m half tempted to hibernate from football after the Champions League Final and only open my eyes on August 1st!

..................................... but, for some frustrtating reason, I just can''t stop monitoring Pinkun, Teletext or Sky Sports News on at least a daily basis!

And many of us believe that has seriously contributed to our problems over the last few seasons. this obsession with not doing business til July so we don''t have to pay their wages over the summer has costs us big time IMHO. This summer more than ever we need to get our business done early and get a settled side playing together in the pre-season games.

I agree. This season more than any the club should be getting in ahead of everybody else.

Because other clubs with a less desperate need for players are already snapping up players, thats why.Give me strength.
Why does everyone think things will happen straight away??
Don''t you not realise all the players are on holiday, we have to be patient, the club conducts it''s business in private, everything''s rosy with the investment and money is killing football?

Well, barely a day had passed after we got relegated at Charlton before Delia et al started coming out with claims that big changes were going to be made at the club. To everyone''s surprise, two heads were soon rolling out of Carrow Road leading to a faint hope on the part of the fans that things would finally be a bit different - that the club''s management would be a bit different. Maybe this really was what the fans had been crying out for?

But then Gunn was appointed. This was taking one step backwards in the eyes of many fans as it is a typical and hugely predictable decision on behalf of the board. Nice and cheap - who cares if it is an appointment that lacks ambition? The truth is the fans wanted a manager with whom we would feel comfortable with. Polls have shown that we didn''t get a manager who we are comfortable with. And the sad truth is that we knew that would happen. The fans feel let down.

Another typical feature of NCFC over recent years has been us being too slow in the trasnfer market, or not getting our man - just generally being uncompetitive. The fans are fearful that this NCFC trend will also continue. The fans want us to be competing in the transfer market this summer - and rightly so. I''m not saying that early signings are the only way we can get a decent squad together, but these pleas for early signings are indicative of how desperate we are to see our club do something a little different and entirely less predictable.

Who cares what the polls say?? If we win the majority of our first 6-10 games then im sure the fans will be "comfortable" with gunn at the helm!

And if we lose the majority then no doubt another few months of dithering will ensue and another season of failure will be the result.

And if, as I suspect, we lose most of our first 10 games then what?
