Michael Foulger says that he personally will match every penny that the fans pledge, he is a fan, you are fans.

Im not telling you to give your rebate, but there is absolutely no reason why Foulger should be expected to give up to 600k to the club "regardless".

A nice gesture from the only decent Director we have, who clearly obviously cares about the club, Is worth a lot less money than Delia and MWJ and has probably lost a fair bit of money in the recession.

Even if the club only collects 200k from the rebate, there is somebody willing to match. Carl Moores is a legend for giving his money to the club when we are in need, yet Foulger is insulted?

Nice one Foulg.

Tough.  The fans have done their bit already.  If Fouler and the board knew how to run a football club properly, we wouldn''t be in this position in the first place.

It realy is good of him and hopefully a genuine offer. He does not deserve abuse or flack if you believe it or not.

How strange that the invisible man suddenly appears when the other cannon fodder has gone.

Is there anyone else left to hide behind?

Only reason Fouger is taking the lead on this (and I admire his stance by the way), is that if the letter / offer came from The Cook they know precisely how that would go down amongst the fans!

Or maybe it is coming from Foulger because he doesnt want to make money from the club, whilst Delia doesnt wants profit.

Do you mean you think Delia does/does not want to make a profit?

The board as a whole would have to agree something like this so he is probably using money that he had already earmarked to invest. Stand up CT and answer if this was correct (from a previous thread).

It''s like DS and her 2 mil covering/not covering Turners last year.

Oh by the way with the new tax rates he would lose 50% of the money if he kept it, I am sure (pleaseTFA) this would be tax deductable some way. Still a nice sum though!

I don''t think it is the only reason at all if you think about it. Delia and her husband have always been most insistant that non-executive directors pay their way for a place on the Board. I am sure Delia and her husband will be putting far more into the Club this season to keep it afloat.

In response to Butler I don''t think this would be tax deductable any more than you or I buying shares would, or making a donation to the club. I have to say from a personal point of view this has made me reconsider my decision to claim my rebate.

Foulger has absolutely no obligation to spend money on the club, money which he would otherwise have left for his children upon his death. It is this time of bratty socialist know it all City fan that gets on my t*ts. Last week there was no sign of investment from any director, and now one is saying that he would give money to the club WITH NO EQUITY IN RETURN.

There are enough shares available for Foulger to spend that money on increasing his stake in the club (with the club still getting the money), yet he is standing side by side with the fans. If we give our hard earned money to the club for nothing but footballing reasons, he will give his hard earned money to the club for footballing reasons.

Bloody decent bloke if you ask me. He has clearly said that we dont have to give the money back, just like HE doesnt have to match that money.

Foulger you are a legend and a true fan.

Its not his fault that fans cant see another Geoffrey Watling when they see one. It is clear that he is bailing out the club.

Even if he didnt, he is Gifting this money to the club, which makes him 100% legend. Like I said, he could happily have gone and bought 600k in shares.

He is instead leaving those remaining shares open to new investment. Which goes to show that he is truly somebody that cares about the club.

Firstly, I am not partially sighted, and if I was I set my monitor to a lower resolution. Secondly, dont call me happy clappy, I could not have made it more clearer in this very post that I am anti-delia. I will continue to clap my team though, and if a wealthy City fan is willing to help that team be one worth clapping (thats Foulger by the way) and is only asking that the fans do not REDUCE the amount that they put into the club this year, then thats all good. I am not telling people to give their rebate, I am just saying that Foulger is doing a decent thing by matching the contribution of those that choose to do so.

Personally my rebate will still be spent on shares, as I want at least a small asset in return, yours may be spent going down the pub. Thats not only fair enough but irrelevant, the point being that Foulger is giving the club money and anybody that gives money away does not deserve to be treated with disrespect. Your money will still be spent on some sort of good or service, some people will choose for that service to be in the form of their saturday afternoon entertainment and some people will choose for that good or service to be their saturday night entertainment etc. Each to their own, but you cant criticise Foulger for giving money to the club that you all claim to support.

Head Nail Hit ctid

It is a personal choice of course but from my stand point I find this latest pr from the board nauseating to the extreme.

This is a good opportunity to let the board no how we feel. If the vast majority of us claim our rebate that sends the most powerful message available to date.

Please don''t let this chance slip through our fingers.

Just because somebody is on the board hardly means they should put their personal money into the club no string attached. If you think that a) Foulger should invest just because he has the money, and b) that we will compete well in League One without money from him then I think you are on a different planet.Assuming that the board are true to their worth, and all the rebate money and Foulger''s money goes directly into the playing budget, then I certainly think it rewards those fans who have decided to give up their rebate. If you don''t want to give up yours, then I don''t really see what difference Foulger''s offer has made, and why it makes you angry anyway...

Why not respond to my reply? If you dont want to give your rebate then Foulgers proposition does not even relate to you, simple as. He will match your rebate if you do and he wont if you dont. Your local pub isnt going to match your rebate.
