Ultramagnetic 0 Posted May 29, 2009 My Celtic supporting mate was always moaning about Gordon Strapon. He said that he was tactically inept, renowned for playing certain people out of position and a terrible motivator of his playing staff. Sounds like an ideal appointment for Norwich. I wouldn''t mind some of that type of incompetence at Carrow Road. Some football fans don''t have a clue what they''re talking about.
Superflash 0 Posted May 29, 2009 With all due respect though, the Scottish league is basically just Celtic and Rangers duking it out for the title every year. Alex McLeish won trophies with Rangers but that didn''t help him keep up Birmingham did it? Before he joined Celtic he was a mediocre Prem manager at best. Lovely bloke and everything by all accounts I''ve heard but from a football point of view I wouldn''t take him on.
Ultramagnetic 0 Posted May 29, 2009 Come on though, we are talking about one of Europes biggest clubs playing in a tin pot league with only one main rival. With their resources, most average managers would be successful up there. Admittedly he did alright at Southampton but I seem to remember him taking Coventry down after 30 or so years in the top flight.
Shaun Tilly Lace 0 Posted May 29, 2009 I''m just saying that "wee Gordy" must have done something right at Celtic to win three titles. I don''t think that Celtic fans wanted him there in the first place, unlike the much-revered Martin O'' Neil. Strachan was born in Edinburgh and Glaswegians absolutely detest anybody who hails from that city, and the feeling is mutual. Also is Strachan a Protestant by any chance? As you all know, a lot of the deep loathing between Rangers and Celtic fans is sectarian, with Celtic being Catholic.
norfolkchance1 0 Posted May 29, 2009 always liked the ginger cat remember being at the cov game when he got sacked 20''000 people ready to rip him apart felt sorry for him but did good at celtic and im sure he will end up at sunderland
They need to EARN the right to play us 0 Posted May 29, 2009 I''ll always remember Craig Bellamy saying what a step backwards it was to go from Norwich under Hamilton (!) to Coventry under Strachan. No thanks.
JuanVelasco 27 Posted May 29, 2009 You lot are crackers. How about the 2007/2008 season when Celtic made the last 16 of the Champions League...... beating AC Milan and Benefica.Or the season before where they only missed out on the last 16 after losing out to AC Milan in extra time?Or the record 7 consecutive wins over Rangers?Or the partnership he formed between Huckerby and Dublin, which was one of the best in the league for two years?F*ck Bellamy, he hasnt got a kind word to say about anybody, I know for a fact that Huckerby loves the fella. He watches videos of every game his club plays 3 times before the next match, and is one of the strictest for prohibiting drinking culture, even being know to turn up at nightclubs looking for players. For that last point alone I would have him here, the sight of Strachan walking into Mercy and dragging out a drunk player by his ear is exactly the type of manager what we need. Its irrelevant anyway, because he will get a better job.
