Chesterfield attract new investment... but City stll can't...

Recommended Posts

All the money is going to a new stadium, it is obviously a looking-for-profit investment, not as philantropic as you might think.

Because Dave Allen lives near Chesterfield and has supported them and Wednesday all his life?! You''re a numpty Smudger.

Dave Allen is also one of the most successful pigeon racers in the UK. Fact!

So you would be happy if this guy offered us £4 million to develope the ground? Isn''t that exactly what you are all blaming Delia Smith for? Spending money on the ground and not the team. Bit of a ridiculous and pointless post really to join the long list of stupidity by some posters on here.

God god its not that complicated is it?  Evidently it is.If he is paying for the ground improvements, the club has more for playing staff. Its still INVESTMENT.

Thats why the Smudger brigade should be ignored! This is a classic post by him - cricism for the sake of it, and not at all constructive, but destructive. Complete waste of time reading anything he posts in my opinion.

according to look north he has invested £6m, £3m of which will be put forward to the stadium.

He also intrestingly slaughted Sheffield Wednesday saying the club is rotten from top to bottom, and their biggest mistake ever was losing him, as they could have had this investment. So it could mean some has gone towards the playing budget.

Wanting to bring in John Sheridan to manage you would obvioulsy assume that there is some to be spent on new players.

Obviously there are many stupid individuals who can''t seem to equate that amount of money he is putting in to the size of Chesterfield as a football club.

Delia Smith hasn''t stumped up too much more yet she has complete control at a club which should have far more lofty ambitions than those of Chesterfield.

If Chesterfield can find suitable investment to take them forwards as a club then why can''t NCFC???
BUMP... Maybe a few of you cocky ones who replied to this thread initially can answer the above question?
From Wiki.........

"Allen came under severe criticism from some supporters in October 2006 after sacking popular Owls manager Paul Sturrock, with fans attributing a slump in form to the chairman instead of the manager; this then led to a series of protests by some supporters aimed directly at the chairman and board of directors. However, the sacking of Sturrock did see an improvement in results and style of play. Allen was sometimes the basis of much criticism from Wednesday fans, as they felt he put money in to the club with the sole intention of taking more out – lacking a "supporters'' heart".[citation needed]. Several media soundbites over the last few years of Allen''s reign as Sheffield Wednesday chairman stoked the criticism.[4]

Allen resigned as Chairman and a Director of Sheffield Wednesday on 23 November 2007,[5] but still holds around 10% of the shares.

In April 2009 it was reported that Allen would invest about £4m in Chesterfield_F.C., while still keeping most of his shares in Sheffield Wednesday

Does he really sound like the sort you want to replace D&M smudger?

You are missing the point again Lapp... a clue for you... try answering the question (the sentance with the question mark on the end of it).

As for Allen at Sheff Weds... didn''t he take them up and keep them there?

Delia Smith... has taken us up and then taken us down and down again.... with the promise of going deeper and down.

Maybe chesterfield are not 20,000,000 in debt.

Mike asthley (whatever his name is) pumped about 250,000,000 in to newcastle where did that get them

"Indeed. Our debts doubled during his involvement on the board (while Allen creamed off six figure sums of loan interest), our fans were sued for criticising his regime using money the club couldn''t afford to spend, and we all got labelled scum, cretins and venomous bitches on national television

IMHO this man brought our club to its knees, and should never be in charge of another football club. Not even Sheffield United!

Have a read of this - the case Allen brought against lifelong Wednesdayites, and brace yourselves for more of the same...

www.onebrickcourt.com/cases_files/87EWHC2375.pdf

Seriously, I hope it works out for you, but I can''t see it with this man at the helm....

Commiserations."

The funniest bit smudger is that this is the guy who took Wednesday fans to court for slagging him off on a message board and yet you of all people hold him up as someone to envy. Hahaha.

Mike ashley pumped 250million into Newcastle?? Can you please explain this? Or is what you mean more on the lines of Mike Ashley bought the club for 250million?? Because believe me if he pumped 250million into the club, i would not be seeing the likes of Harper inbetween the sticks and Shola Ameobi getting appearances...

Smudger

Allen p*ssed off every Wednesday fan around.  During his time average gates fell from 35,000 to 18,000.  They went from Premier to 3rd tier, and have not fully recovered since his departure.  He didn''t allow managers a free hand in their transfer policy.  They went for a load of loanees.  They are £24 million in debt, some of which remains to Allen himself.  All sounding very familiar so far.

Allen is a nightclub and casino owning entrpreneur.  Apparently he never surfaces until 11am and personally oversees what''s going on inside his clubs (usually watches me lose another pocketful of loose change - I know i should invest in NCFC but what the hell).

He lives closer to Chessy than Wednesday.  The new ground is a developers dream.  He already has one casino near Owlerton stadium so knows how important location is.  He can now build Chessy''s first proper casino in what is efectively his own ground.  All sounding very familiar so far.

He will p*ss off every Chessy fan going before the end of the season.

You may use this as ammunition for your Delia get out campaign.  Dave and Delia probably get on really well together and swap notes.

Dave Allen''s favourite sport is pigeon racing.

I think I have finally worked out the problems with Smudge and that''s an inability to listen to anyone else''s facts. This is apparent in this thread and almost any other where he blatently ignores any research, common or local knowledge. Where he is proved wrong (which is most of the time) he disappears from that thread altogether or totally ignores the reasoned argument against him.

I don''t know the answer fella, but I would bet that he looked at them before they looked at him, as another poster pointed out, he would have more of a motive for non footballing reasons. Also, unless I am being blind or stupid, it doesn''t say if he gets shares etc and how many if at all.
