His record looks familiar - successful at lower level clubs, a couple of purple patches, crap for the last 2 years.  It''s like someone cloned Jamie Cureton.

Uselessis the word and I would be really pissed off if he signed, even on a free. Mind you, he may come and score a bag full and be a hero and I will regret saying this, don''t think I will mind you.

...to be fair, those Appearance figures will include sub apperances, so could be somewhat misleading.

For instance, look at Cureton''s Norwich career record: on the face of it, it is not so bad at 56 starts and 22 goals....but add sub appearances in (all 44 of them) and suddenly his record looks much different - 22 goals in 100 apps.  You may or may not rate him, but it is a good guide for how stats can be misleading.

I''m not wishing to say that Byfield is fantastic, I don''t know that much about him, but it is not necessarily fair to use statistics to tell the whole story.   At the end of the day, he has had recent spells at Championship sides in Bristol City and Doncaster in the last two seasons, so presumably has something about him.

Ha ha. Brilliant.

But who cares about statistics anyway? Didn''t we all love Lee and he only scored 2 in 7. Lita''s scored 20 in 77 for Reading. Eadie scored 37 in 208 appearances etc etc etc ad nauseum
