nutless nigel -
I wouldn''t say it was better back then though
What a load of squit, of course it was better ''then'', and it has nothing to do with being older & nostalgic. Football in general was better ''then'' and that''s based on fact - it was a game, fundamentally, for the working-classes, when man & boy both played and spectated because of their love for the game.People of your ilk have been brainwashed into believing everything is rosy in the English garden by years of overly liberal politics and media, and it''s damn frustrating to see older generations accepting the doctrines as easily as the ''lost'' youth of today - the latter have an excuse for being indoctrinated; they''ve had lefty ideals shoved down their throats right through the system - from infant school to university the poor sods have had bearded hippies and lesbians with s*it for brains preaching to them that the white Englishman is nasty and that further generations should all serve some form of penance for their ''terrible'' infractions in the past. You have no such an excuse, nutless, so wise up.
Papping on about the working classes and then slag off "lefties" with all the wit and understanding of a infant. You''ll be voting for the Eton boys-club of the Tories will you? Think they care about the working classes? Or is it the BNP for you, those defenders of your democratic rights? Or maybe it''s not democracy you care about, just white Englishmen.
It''s more to do with how politics affect the classes, you blithering tool -- if you seriously believe that Labour & left-wing policies have EVER benefited the working-class in this country, then you are as clearly deluded as nutless nigella.Remember this quote, SHat, and remember it well - ''You don''t make a poor man rich by making a rich man poor.''Comprehende?
You really are a cretin aren''t you SHYTster. I see you''re incapable of answering the question, BNP or UKIP or Tories  for you? You think the Tories will or have ever helped the working classes? You''ve clearly not noticed the improvements of the average standard of living in this country. Was it not "leftie" policies that created the NHS, minimum wage and protected working people with the union movement.
Cretin? Do you figure me a cretin for speaking in a language I''d have hoped you''d understand? If so, then I''m guilty as charged your honour.  [:P]Anyway.... SHat -
Was it not "leftie" policies that created the NHS
It most certainly was, and since its inauguration the maintenance of the NHS has cost billions and rather than raise taxes to the absurd/extreme it''s seen nothing but huge spending cuts which has lead to poor care and lengthy waiting lists - much like Canada and all the other welfare countries that have rapidly increasing populations.Free healthcare should only be given to those who don''t have self-inflicted illnesses''s - other than that, Capitalism is the answer where heath care is concerned - performance related quacks & hospitals would surely create competition and keep charges to a minimum that every person, who deserves it, can afford. As for the minimum wage, don''t you realise that it actually harms the least-advantaged among people? Especially when it comes to raising the minimum wage -- nobody will pay an employee more than that employee’s value to the business, at least not for long. For instance, if you are the employer and you believe that a low-skilled young person contributes about £6.00 of value to your company every hour, you’ll be willing to pay that person up to £6.00 per hour - if an increase in the minimum wage then forces you to raise his pay to £7.00 per hour, you’ll lose a quid an hour for keeping him on, which inevitably leads to having to lay him off. So ultimately the minimum-wage laws that force wages above the rates that would be freely negotiated in the market throw people out of work.

So there goes two useless leftie policies for starters. [:P]

I think the last couple of years have proved one thing - capitalism is not the answer to anything in the long term.Anysystem based on a short term model, such as yearly profits, will intrinsically neglect long term benefits.
