Someone PLEASE do not let him talk to anyone.

Gunn is making negative statements to the press which are presented to supporters, opposing teams, players etc.

Goodness knows what inspiration the players take from comments like that.

Gunn needs to choose his words more carefully to talk up his players and the prospects for the season. Please someone sort it out!

Beware the mighty Scunthorpe!! Holy Moses! I can''t believe how far our once great club has fallen.

Or, he could just be being respectful to the other clubs in this league?

Imagine him going "we''ll p*ss this league, we''re by far the bigger club" - other teams would come here looking to shut him up.

Scunthorpe... A team who have two players in their side capable of scoring 20 goals each... I think they very much deserve that respect. Forget our history... it means very little now... it''s all about who wants it more in this league... who''s hungry to win... At the moment we have a team with very little hunger, and until we sign some players determined to do well for NCFC we''re in trouble.

Where is the ''reason'' in this statement?

These quotes above are seriously worrying, how arrogant are you...we''re not Newcastle fans. Just because of the size of the stadium etc...doesnt mean we will walk this league or deserve to be any higher. We''re here playing teams like Scunthorpe because thats where our performances have led us to.

Scunthorpe are a decent team in this league, they''ve got a couple of Irish internationals and a lad called Paul Hayes who is a 15-20 goal a year man in this league. He is also ex-Norwich academy, who we released on a free, how much would we have to spend to bring him back. Not thatd hed want to come of course.

Scunthorpe was just one of the teams who Gun has mentioned, an example. What worries me, and the main point of the thread, is that he doesn''t seem to choose his words carefully. For our manager to boast in our prowess and promise automatic promotion this season would be wrong, but, surely it needs for him to frame his comments in a positive way, to help, via auto suggestion, the supporters and to think positively.

Dread the thought of going to a club like Peterborough in the FA Cup, winning and having it splashed all over media that its a giantkilling- that would really show how low we''d fallen.
