Does this sound familar??

Stan Collymore''s column in the Mirror today, who are we talking about??

He should step down immediately and admit for the club''s sake that he''s not up to the job.

One win in the last 8 games

Players who didn''t perform on the very day that they needed to

Players weren''t motivated today

He has the passion and loves the club but hasn''t got the experience

He would be the easy option

The board shouldn''t have thought that employing a legend will give them success.
Both managers have this desire to right a wrong, in the sense that they were in charge when club went down and want to atone for it. Wonder if Shearer will canvas for the job as BG did.

 Like Us, Newcastle

put absolute blind trust in a legend to get them out of trouble, and

it’s looking like they’re both going to fail, Shearer so far hasn''t won

a game in his time at the helm, while Gunn has had a great little run

of games, when hopes really started to raise, but it couldn''t be

maintained.

Bryan Gunn, like Shearer, had no management

experience, and like Shearer it’s showing at just the wrong time, why

do clubs treat ageing heroes like messiahs ?  Both sets of supporters

deserve better, their clubs need to be run better at the top and have

proper full-time managers appointed by a board that''s not one of their

starry-eyed by their idols.

At the time I said that I applauded

our board for appointing a Norwich man through and through, but did

have grave concerns about the gaping lack of experience, sadly over the

last few weeks this has raised it''s ugly head time and time again.

I don''t blame Gunny for the mess that was down to the last regime, buit

he did step up to line and accept the job, so must take his share of

the criticism, however I still maintain even some more experienced

managers may well have struggled.

But you have to ask massive

questions of both Boards, why they chose to appoint people with

absolutely no managerial expereince whatsoever to take over the helm

during such a vital time, and with so much at stake. It must be that

neither Boardroom has anybody of note with a little football knowledge,

it is yet another glaring mistake made by both clubs; and again the

long suffering fans, have to suffer for longer.
Forgive me but...Does this really need another thread? - Why not put it on one of the dozens of other anti Gunn threads?
