Bryan Gunn is the man that has been given the job of trying to build us a squad of players that care for this football club.

Thats the most important thing, and pretty much everything that he has done has been positive. Just look at the millions wasted by both Grant and Roeder, and compare with Gunns activities in the little time that he has had.

  • Michael Spillane signing a two year contract, we could realistically have lost him after his treatment by Roeder and his excellent perfomances this year.
  • Recalled Jamie Cureton from loan.
  • Won more games than Roeder, with Roeders own squad.
  • Lost less games than Roeder, with Roeders own squad.
  • Found a championship striker who is willing to play for us in League One.
  • Brought Jason Shackell back the club that he should never have left.
  • Dropped Mark Fotheringham and told him he would never play for us again.
  • Released the non league standard Robert Eagle.
  • Sent back Elliott Omnuszi
  • Signed the half decent Alan Gow.
  • Reinstated Reserve team football
  • Actually called Huckerby on several occassions to enquire about availability
  • Got Gary Doherty playing his best football for years.
  • Dropped Jamie Cureton and made it clear that he isnt staying.
  • Made attempts to keep Lee Croft, that would have worked if we had stayed up.
  • Ensured that we actually had back up defenders.
  • Signed Cody McDonald who will be quality next season.

And all you are going to give him is less than 5 months to fix almost 3 years of serious mismanagment, demorilisation, and awful football? This 5 months have been just the very start of a rebuilding programme by Gunn.

He now has the whole summer to bring in his own players, try out his own football, clear out the rest of the t*ssers and get the team fit, gelled and happy ready for  season of league one football.

Yes he signed Carney, but in 10 days of transfer window, their isnt exactly going to be a production line of BACK UP wingers is there?

I like your attitude Ryan. I''m just unhappy with the chain of events which led to him having the job in the first place.

Oh for gods sake, another "get behind the boys" post.   Shall we just nod like dogs at your "definitive" list of achievements.  Lets have a look shall we....Michael Spillane signing a two year contract, we could

realistically have lost him after his treatment by Roeder and his

excellent perfomances this year.THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF SPILLANES AND MOST FALL SHORT.  LETS HOPE HE REPAYS YOUR LIND FAITH WHERE OTHERS HAVE FAILED - JARVIS BROTHERS, DANNY CROWE, ETC ETC ETCRecalled Jamie Cureton from loan.FAIL TO SEE HOW THAT WAS A POSITIVE.  GETTING HIM OFF THE WAGE BILL BY LEAVING HIM ON LOAN WOULD HAVE BEEN THE SHREWDER MOVE.Won more games than Roeder, with Roeders own squad.Lost less games than Roeder, with Roeders own squad.GOT US RELEGATED.  WON ONLY FIVE OF 19 GAMES AND SOME OF THOSE WINS WERE UNCONVINCING.  ROEDERS SQUAD WAS LOANS, SO MORE LOANS = GUNNS SQUAD, AND WHO WAS HEAD OF PLAYER RECRUITMENT UNDER ROEDER?Found a championship striker who is willing to play for us in League One.HAVE WE SIGNED HIM YET? MUST HAVE MISSED THAT ONE.Brought Jason Shackell back the club that he should never have left.YOU MEAN SHACKELL THE POOR DEFENDER AT FAULT FOR MANY GOALS INCLUDING TWO AGAINST READING AND WHO WOLVES NOW WANT TO OFFLOAD AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.Dropped Mark Fotheringham and told him he would never play for us again.HARDLY TOOK A GENIUS TO WORK THAT ONE OUT, HARDLY STUNNING MANAGEMENT.Released the non league standard Robert Eagle.AGAIN MANY OF US WERE STUNNED HE GOT A YEAR EXTENSION IN THE FIRST PLACE SO HARDLY A MOVE OF GENIUS.Sent back Elliott OmnusziI WOULD STRONGLY ARGUE SENDING HIM BACK LEFT US WITH NO COMPETITION AT RIGHT BACK MEANING WE HAD TO RELY ON THE WORST RIGHT ACK IN THE CLUBS MODERN HISTORY.Signed the half decent Alan Gow.ON LOAN.  Reinstated Reserve team footballAGAIN, HARDLY A MOVE OF GENIUS.Actually called Huckerby on several occassions to enquire about availabilityYOU BELIEVE A PLAYER WHO IS 34 WITH A DODGY KNEE WHO''S CAME WAS BASED AROUND SPEED AND DRIBBLING WOULD BE AN ASSET IN LEAGUE ONE?Got Gary Doherty playing his best football for years.SORRY, I CANT EVEN ANSWER THIS ONE, ITS JUST RUBBISH.Dropped Jamie Cureton and made it clear that he isnt staying.EARLIER YOU APPLAUDED HIM BEING BROUGHT BACK ON LOAN. GUNN BROUGHT HIM BACK SO WE PAY HIS WAGES AND THEN DROPPED HIM.  THAT IS SH*T MANAGEMENT IN ANYONES BOOK.Made attempts to keep Lee Croft, that would have worked if we had stayed up.NOT VERY GOOD ATTEMPTS EVIDENTLY.  NOT GETTING RELEGATED WOULD HAVE HELPED.Ensured that we actually had back up defenders.WHO?  ROEDER HAD FOUR CENTRE BACKS AND FOUR FULL BACKS.  REMIND ME HOW MANY WE FINISHED THE SEASON WITH AGAIN.Signed Cody McDonald who will be quality next season.WILL HE?  LIKE CHRIS MARTIN WAS GOING TO BE?

I agree with Ryan I''m happy he has got the job i will support him 100%. I can''t believe people blame him for Roeders sh!t signings because he was to do with player recruitment do you honestly believe the ego of Glenn Roeder would let anybody tell him who he should sign, Bryan could of lined up Rooney and Roeder wouldn''t of done it cos he wanted to be the only character at the club Dion has confirmed that. Roeder sucked the life out of the club when he let Mr Norwich City leave.

Compare with Nigel Worthington.  We were 20th when he took over in January 2001 with a shambolic squad and a split dressing room, and finished 15th.  Not everyone was convinced but that was enough for me.  I was in favour of his appointment, I''m not impossibly hard to please.

If Gunn wasn''t a club "legend" we wouldn''t even be discussing it.
