Official site:

Huckerby has already had two spells out with injury this season, both relating to a recurring hip injury, and the City boss believed that the two could be related.

"Darren has had a problem with his hip this season, and the fact that he has now picked up a groin injury could be related to the problem in the area as they are not too far apart."

From Darren Huckerby:

“By the time that I could play for Norwich I''d be nearly 34 and with a slightly dodgy hip,” he explained. “I''ve got certain standards that I set myself and I would want to be able to meet them while playing for Norwich. I will do whatever is best for Norwich City at the end of the day. Money wouldn''t be the issue. If I can''t go out there and inspire the fans then there''s no point being on the pitch.
No the hip problem won''t go, its been with the guy for a year or more now.

Yes a year can slow a player hugely.  Was I watching a different game to the last ones of Hucerkby - even then he was losing his pace rapidly.

HE IS OUT WITH A QUAD INJURY. GET THAT INTO YOUR F*CKING TINY BRAIN. A QUAD INJURY HAS NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH HIS HIP OR A KNEE. HE HAS A FUCKING MUSCLE STRAIN NOT A CRUCIATE LIGAMENT INJURY.

That goes for the midfield as well. Captain Ramiro Corrales has yet to recover fully from the ankle injury he sustained last Saturday against Seattle, and Darren Huckerby is still hobbled by a quadriceps strain. These developments have left Yallop mindful of the bigger picture, namely this weekend''s league match against league-leading Chivas USA.

Center midfielder Ramiro Corrales is doubtful this week because of an ankle sprain, and left wing Darren Huckerby remains questionable with a quadriceps strain.

Ryan Cochrane, will miss three months after ankle surgery. Fortunately for the Quakes, stellar midfielder Darren Huckerby will return from a two-game absence with a quad strain, and defender Nick Garcia should be over the stomach problem that kept him out of Wednesday''s 2-1 U.S. Open Cup loss to the New York Red Bulls.

San Jose (1-4-2) is enduring similar woes as it enters its fourth match without striker Darren Huckerby, who is out with a quadriceps strain. In the Earthquakes'' first match without Huckerby on April 18, Pablo Campos scored their lone goal in the fifth minute of a 1-all tie with Los Angeles.

Against Chivas, the Quakes at times showed the kind of dynamic attacking play that Yallop envisioned in preseason. But with midfielder Simon Elliott picking up a lower leg injury in midweek, the San Jose manager might be forced to shuffle his personnel once again, especially since winger Darren Huckerby remains sidelined by a right thigh strain.

While the stadium news is a boon for San Jose, there is more bad news on the injury front. Darren Huckerby will miss the next two to three weeks after aggravating a right thigh injury, according to Center Line Soccer.

http://web.mlsnet.com/news/mls_news.jsp?ymd=20090501&content_id=247169&vkey=news_mls&fext=.jsp

The Earthquakes came into this season looking to base their midfield around Darren Huckerby, last year''s MLS Newcomer of the Year, and Bobby Convey, who returned to the league this year after playing in England. But Huckerby is expected to miss his third consecutive game with a thigh strain while Convey has been moved around in a bid to find his best place on the field.

http://web.mlsnet.com/news/mls_news.jsp?ymd=20090424&content_id=243670&vkey=news_mls&fext=.jsp

Achieving those aims will be more difficult in light of injuries to some key personnel. Winger Darren Huckerby seems likely to miss his second consecutive game, although Yallop is holding out hope that the Englishman recovers enough from a right thigh strain to at least be on the bench.

Questionable - Kelly Gray (L - calf strain); Shea Salinas (R - hip strain); Ryan Cochrane (L - ankle sprain); Darren Huckerby (R - quadriceps strain);

Do I get the distinct impression that this debate is between two teenagers? I''m just waiting for them to bring out the "yo momma" jokes and start calling each other "poo head" to confirm this.

Does anyone else think if this "debate" continues a couple of permanent bannings are imminent?
Yes totally.  You know, in a way I would really love him to come back, so that people like you can have your stupidity shoved right down your throats after you realise he just cant hack it anymore.

.....so that people will stop expecting and hoping he will come back.  He is old and crocked and would be utterly ineffective in league one.We need new heroes, real ones, not false gods and looking at the past through rose-tinted spectacles.
Clueless.

Dont you realise how utterly stupid that statement sounds? The truth is nobody knows whether Huckerby is finished or not. Its 50/50, he could still do a job for Norwich, he might be washed up. Who knows. But what i do know is you cant possibly know for sure that he is finished and wouldnt have an impact if he came back. Just as we dont know that he''d still be a hit. All i know is he''s doin the business in the MLS, and your not about to tell me that League 1 is better than the MLS are you?If so then if Beckham was playing at League 1 level would he make the England squad? My point has always been if the MLS is good enough for Beckham, Capello and England then the MLS is good enough for Huckerby, Gunn and Norwich City. But the facts are, who really knows for sure?
