How do NCISA feel about Gunn's appointment?

Recommended Posts

Just wondered if NCISA fully endorsed Gunn''s appointment, or are they going to make strong representations to the board about the lack of consultation with fans?

Has there ever been a time where the NCISA has not agreed with an appointment before Gunn? Interesting and depressing times ahead.

As a shareholder and long standing season ticket holder I think Gunn, Butterworth & Crook should be given their chance,

their passioin & loyalty is unquestionable....have we forgotten

this is a sport their are winners and losers, highs and lows and Roeder

left this club with it''s heart ripped out, we should get behind the

team and the club and rebuild for the future, relegation could be a

hard blessing in disguise....can''t see many managers taking on the task

with so little investment on the horizon especially given the economic

situation - we are in a reccessioin for God''s sake, we are in league

one and now we have to deal with it. Can''t believe how Delia is being

vilified if Smith and Jones pull out the club might go into

administration and then where would we be? Let''s get behind the club in

tough times they need the loyalty of the fans more than ever....better

days will come...when the going gets tough the tough get going lets

show them what we''re made of.

You have the passion, I have the passion, a few thousand city fans have the passion, but the big question is:

Who has the ability and qualifications?

To appoint someone who can achieve we must assume the right criteria is addressed from the outset. That means the interview panel (if there is an interview in the first place) have to draw up what qualities candidates must possess. As this is for our football manager we can assume a CV with evidence of building a squad (preferably fairly cheaply), man management skills, motivational skills, media handling skills and so on. Some evidence of a recent promotion would have been a bonus.

Yes Roeder did a lot of damage, but Smith and Jones are just carrying that on. This is not a happy club. Fans divided over what is best, players leaving a sinking ship, directors "let go". Don''t think that Roeder was the start of the rot, he just carried it on, adding new and highly visible attractions such as loan players and being rude to the fans.

We are in a recession, but this hasn''t harmed poor old Burnley and Sheffield United has it? Why is this, is it just due to them having directors or investors with money, or a better business approach? Doncaster was always at pains to point out all other clubs had wealthy benefactors. And what about ours? Constantly at pains to say just how much she''s put into the club over the years, to say nothing of the money the board has squandered. Why can''t we compete with all those clubs who finished above us? Why haven''t we been able to compete for a long time now? Simple. Wrong people in charge, wrong philosophy.

Sorry, but in no way can relegation be a blessing in disguise, it just sets us back years. Sadly relying on the people who caused relegation will set us back even more.

Administration? Quite possible, but not as a result of driving Delia and Michael out, more likely as a result of their continued failure to secure investment. The Chairman of Sheffield Wednesday jumps on a plane to San Francisco to look for investors keen on investing in English football clubs. And we do, what exactly.

There are plenty of stories doing the rounds, consortiums, buy out deals. We can only hope that something along those lines happens, for if Delia and Michael remain in control much longer we are facing all our fears.
