Keeping the crap and getting rid of the decent players!

Recommended Posts

It would of been nice to of kept some of our best players to build a team around, to try and gain promotion at the first attempt. But all i keep seeing and reading stories about Clingan, Hoolahan and Croft going to other clubs. I knew one or two would leave but this is just crazy! Leicester never gained promotion again by doing this. YOU HAVE TO KEEP YOUR BEST PLAYERS AND GET RID OF THE ONE''S THAT ARE CRAP!

But they''re footballers with massive egos and no loyalty to fans, let them go at least what we have left and what we bring in will want to play for us.

Leicester lost McAuley and Stearman on relegation to name just two, but the big difference is they had Manderic  in charge to at least keep the nucleus of the squad. They appointed a bright young manager with a clear vision and his confidence of promotion bought him a year with many players. The problem with us is that we do not have a squad with the return of the loan players and we have Delia upstairs, Gunn downstairs which instills no confidence at all.Players may not at times be the brightest but if there was any chance to get away from here at the moment , who would not take it?This is going to be a tough close season with players leaving for the superior teams of Cardiff,Palace and Peterboro'' while we try to compete with Brentford for free transfers.

If players like Hoolahan and Clingan want to leave we should tell them they''re going nowhere. Yes, you could argue that there''s no point keeping an unhappy player but in the days where contracts arn''t worth the paper they''re written on, it''s just encouraging footballers to spit their dummy out.

If the Norwich Board have even the slightest bit of ambition in them then they will keep hold of both Hoolahan and Clingan, sure they can kick up a fuss, but ultimately they have no choice but to give it there all for us in league 1, because if they fail to make any impact what so ever in League 1 they will simply fall of the radar, which means no championship clubs will come after them in the future.

Look at C.Ronaldo, you don''t really believe that he wants to be at United do you? Of course not but Ferguson wont let him go and he''s still been their star player this season despite the odd temper tantrum.

That would be fine if you were not planning to cut wages but you are and therefore have to offer a new contract which they don''t have to sign.  I am quietly confident that all the agents have been hitting the phones for weeks.

And the exact same can be said for Hoolahan and Clingan, they are under contract with us no matter how much they may not like it and while that continues, they will have no choice but to give it their all for this club, to put them in the shop window if nothing else. What happens to those two players over the next 3 months will determine if this new look Board have more ambition/balls than the previous one.

Then let them sit on their current contract, it''s all well and good cutting costs here to save cash and restructure the clubs finances for league 1, but ultimately they must be a little lenient to our better players if they want to keep them and thefore stand a better chance of promotion.
