ZLF 261 Posted May 3, 2009 All three relegated clubs have the same tag and if leeds stay down that is lots of "big" clubs so I am hoping will minimise the effect. As leicester have shown with a base of experienced and physical players you can get out; but we wont do it with the current set of namby pambies supplemented by youngsters, they will be groiund down.Experience and strength - we have to sign that now... Would offer the players we want to keep a reduced weekly wage, with a bonus of to bring the wage back to their champs level if they get automatic promotion; that should incentivise them... lucky green trainers 0 Posted May 3, 2009 i anticipate the first priority of the board will be to balance the books and return to profitability...if so - this suggests to me our playing squad budget will be insufficent to credibly challange for automatic promotion - probably a tilt at the top 6 is all we can look forward to... siforest65 0 Posted May 3, 2009 It pains me to say it, but your board need to see how Leicester did it.When Forest were in League One we had to many billy big bollocks players who thought they were the business (and I include Kriss Commons amongst that). Build up a few gutsy results and get some self belief with players who will graft and also have that bit of extra skill and vision and then teams will fear you and try to shut you out as opposed to go for the jugular.I bet when Leicester visited places after Christmas they were feared and teams were happy to go for a draw, To me thats is half the battle in League One. Old Shuck 182 Posted May 4, 2009 I can''t believe that clubs are now looking at us as THE fixture and are looking forward to it so much, "make a weekend of it" and so on and so forth. Crazy!Fans of Hartlepool might be rubbing their eyes in disbelief (they said it "Norwich vs Hartlepool, who''d have believed it"), I''m not, this, and the fixtures with Exeter, Orient and Brentford et al have been looming on the horizon for ages. I hope we play them with respect and treat the fixtures with respect as well, hopefully the new regime and squad will be up for those and every other one we play next season.I suppose us vs Charlton or Southampton might be "live" on Sky?Next season certainly falling into place now though, Ipswich CCC Winners, Charlton League1.....
