Gunn: 5 defeats in final 6 games!

Recommended Posts

Do yourself a favour Gunn, withdraw yourself from the running from the managerial position, the above statistic for the final run-in says it all.

In the last two weeks, you haven''t been able to prepare a team to win the most important East Anglian derby for 25 years, THE most important match arguably in our history on Monday against Reading, culmunating in that today. In the end in wasn''t even close ,we went down by 5 points.

Why do you think you can do the job?/Why would the board give you the job after that ?- Whilst you still have the dignity of being a great Norwich player and while enough fans still won''t blame you for whats happened this season (I''m not one of them -you had 20 games!)- call it a day.

Again we look for a scapegoat and ignore the players.  Gunn isn''t a magician, you cant turn poo into gold....

He is a good man who has done his best.  Would still like an experienced man though.

But if the players are so useless, how can we beat Wolves 5-2 and one or two other good results? You need a good manager to have any chance of making a decent team...sadly Gunn falls way short of the mark!

poor ole gunny gave his best - but yeah - the final run in was lamentable - and truly was relegation form - for me,,,gunny is way off whats required...imo - if he truly loves naaarwich city - he will sit down and tender his resignation - realising he came up short...cos really - can anyone hand on heart have confidence in gunny preparing city adequately for life in league 1 - john hartson anyone???

The thing that annoys me is Gunn talking as if he''s going to be the manager next season.

Its ludicrous! As is Munby ascertain that because Gunn really wants the job that somehow makes him the best candidate.

Gunn should do the decent thing and walk away just like Grant did. His job was to keep us up he failed. Please leave.

Lets wait and see what wednesday brings, but if we don''t remove Gunn it shall mean even less chance of getting out of League 1.

Munby is talking without seeing if there any knock on effects from today but if we start protesting against the board they''ll have to take note.

To have lost the last 5 out of the 6 remaining games just shows that the players don''t really want to play for Gunn (they didn''t turn up today/against Reading/2nd half of Ipswich/Swansea) but Munby will see him as the ideal candidate.

We need an ambitious driven man whose going to drag this club from its bootlaces, by keeping Gunn we are committing the same crime as Leeds did with McAllister, someone who is a club legend but ulitmately not up too the job. They got rid and got in Simon Grayson who turned their season around and made them candidates to win the league 1 playoffs.

Go out get Robins, Gannon, Boothroyd etc but don''t make the mistake of leaving someone in a job just because they "bleed yellow and green"

To be fair, it''s largely Roeders legacy/players who have gotten us relegated, not Bryan Gunn. The guy did his best. However, that doesn''t mean Gunn is the right man for the job. It just means that we still don''t know how he''ll get on when it comes to recruiting and putting his own team together. You cannot truly judge a manager until they''ve had a chance to do that. This is the reason the board will probably stick with him - but if we do, as many suspect, need to change our management team, we need to do it now - not half way through our first season in Division 3 when it all goes t*ts up.

But, Gunn was responsible for transfers under Roeder''s regime and he brought 9 players in himself in January. Gunn inherited a team that had never been in the bottom 3 all season and was tactically outwitted time and time again. You can''t blame him he has done his best but he should never have been given the job.

Name one other Championship team which would hire him as manager ............................. I rest my case

This table says it all really, especially when you see that Barnsley only lost 1 of their last 6, a simple pathetic, spinless, gutless "fight" against relegation.

How Gunn could even consider himself a suitable candidate looking at this is laughable.
