Oh dear....the board are thinking of carrying on, with Gunn in charge!

Recommended Posts

Reading the EDP it looks as though Delia and her cronies are going to fight tooth and nail to stay in charge, despite being totally responsible for leading our club into the third tier of English football. An urgent board meeting of cronies inc. will be held on Wednesday (why not Tuesday?) when important decisions will be made by the ''untouchables''. At a press conference to follow a week later exciting announcements will be made along the following lines:

  • Bryan Gunn to be given a one year contract to lead NCFC back to the championship. This will be triumphed as an excellent decision as it will save the club lots of money, Bryan already has substantial management experience having led Norwich for the past few weeks and successfully achieved relegation to League 1, Bryan''s previous experience in a variety of roles within the club can only enhance his managerial style and potential, his popularity as a past player will continue to deflect ill - will from the board, and he is the sort of guy who will not cause ripples, and faithfully adhere to the club''s vision of ''prudence without ambition''.
  • A new vision will emerge with the mantra slightly changing to ''prudence with adminstration''.
  • Delia and the board will attend a series of team building and communication seminars, and launch a new programme of ''openess'' with the fans. It will be important to show the fans how important their money....opps....support is to the club, and in future they really will play a role in key decisions. The vehicle for this will NCISA, who have worked cosily....oops....closely with the board on many previous occasions, and are well known for their forthright and frank (but friendly and ineffective) exchanges on a whole range of issues.
  • Delia and the board will attend ''football familiarisation'' sessions with Academy staff, to learn important things about football, such as ''what shape is the ball?, and ''what makes a successful manager?''
  • The current board will remain unchanged. They bring to the club a wealth of experience in important areas such as catering, clown hire, mascot adoption, and communication skills.
  • Football will remain an insignificant but valued aspect of the club, with the aim to achieve the status of clubs such as Kings Lynn as soon as prudently possible.
  • The Colney training complex will be sold off to help clear existing depts.
  • Season ticket holders will be asked to donate their refunds to help maintain current salary levels within the club. There will be staff cuts but as is right and proper these will be on a ''last in first out basis''.
  • Fans have a central role to play in the future of NCFC, and can start by bringing some kit along to the player trials to be announced soon; we are determined to bring an end to the previous over reliance on loan players, and our new recruitment policy presents a major stride in that direction.

Yes I know the above is all very ridiculous and silly, but somehow it doesn''t seem so far fetched when considered in the context of our current totally inept board! The worrying thing is, some of it will happen, and the heart ache will continue. Enjoy your bank holiday!!!
