A awful sunday .....

Recommended Posts

Awful Performance ...... NO passion at all. Its the players fault in my opinion., Gunny came in after GR, which HAD to lift the team, and it didnt, the players are not hungry enough and the desire isnt there.  We need 11 Cody Mcdonalds, players who are out there to proove a point and better themself. When they came out after full time to applaud the fans ( and rightly so ) they should of got boo''d by everyone. Not just a few people. They where dire and they''ve let the fans down. It makes me so angry after a performance like that, that they''re still going to pick up there 10k + a week. It will do us good to go down, and we deserve it. One bad decision to another has got us in this mess. Iv seen more passion in a steven hawkings porn film.Oh....and to top it off, the train broke down in that shithole of a town, so we where waiting for around a hour before we left. Not a good day

I don''t think we deserve relegation! The players do, but who suffers? We as fans do! The majority of the players will not be here next season so relegation for them is hardly a punnishment, is it?

Ipsh.it were there for the taking - they are a crap team this season and their home record is appalling and so I was convinced we were going to beat the bastards this year, but somewhat predictably our complete shower of poo failed to turn up, yet again!

I only listened on Canariesworld but it didnt sound inspiring. We just seemed devoid of ideas after we conceded the first. Why Gow was left on the pitch I will never know, he sounded bloody awful. On the flip-side I actually think it will do us good to go down, I just hope we don''t linger there. Don''t get me wrong, I''m not like Wiz and actively supporting other teams to put us to the sword so we do get relegated, and I''d love us to stay up, but I really can''t see it happening. It will force us to forget Premier league loanees and look to the lower leagues, and if Cody Mac is anything to go by, it would seem Gunny has a good eye for these sort of players. I agree wholeheartedly with you, we need 11 hungry players out there, and that just isn''t happening at the moment so getting in some players with a point to prove would be a good move imo.I know many will disagree with me on that and say that if these players were so good they would have been picked up sooner, but look at some of the Leeds players, and the ones who have just got Leicester promoted. Players like Jermaine Beckford - 32goals in 39 app this season, Lloyd Dyer who is a fantastic winger, Mackail-Smith (25goals this season) and Maclean from Peterboro (18goals this season) who look set for auto-promotion. these are the sort of players we need to look towards in order to succeed in League one next year, and I don''t mean these players specifically, as they will be playing in the champs next season (maybe with the exception of Beckford if he stays at Leeds, but if they dont go up he''ll get a multi-million £ transfer anyway). What I mean is this calibre of player, young, hungry, talented.... They are out there, it''s a case of finding them. This is an area where we have failed epically in recent years, going down will force us to improve our scouting network.I just hope we can come back up again fairly quickly!!

My observations on the game were:

  • Very disappointed in Norwich - no real fight or passion (only one booking for a team fighting for its life?) - no change of tactics until around 10 mins from time.  You allowed Ipswich to play our ''normal'' game that has got us nowhere his season - i.e. turn up play a few nice balls around but no passion or desire to win the first ball as usual.  Result = two teams going the same exact thing but one had a couple of better players than the other on the day.
  • Norwich defence very static - made Lisbie look good!!!!
  • Ipswich penalty 50/50.  I was surpised it was given as we never get even the most obvious.  Yes Marshall caught Lisbie  (who to me was looking for it), but there was (an accidental) handball as the ball came up beforehand, so although this would normally be ignored as it was ball to hand so play carries on, I would expect that to be taken into consideration over the penalty call.
  • Norwich penalty 100% correct. Quinn was stupid (not for the first time!).
  • Lee looks like he has lost weight. Mind you he still ran out of steam.  Something to do with smoking and drinking....?
  • Croft was lucky to stay on the pitch - I counted 4 late challenges that I would say had no intention of ball playing.  Seemed to me he was the only one fired up, but not necessarily in the right way....
  • I hope that by winning Magilton does not get to keep his job!

I still hope you stay up - the region needs it (but I personally don''t mind you going down).

Good luck for the final 2 games.

Thanks for that Blue.I think it''s a very fair summation in the light of lots of the reports from our supporters. Unfortunately lack of passion, particularly away from home has been a recurring theme in our season, and the late change of tactics is pretty much de rigeur for our current management team.

I hope that you get rid of Magilton, who is clearly an idiot, and appears to have lost the dressing room. As for us, I suspect that we''ll get what we deserve!
