Ipswitch only sold 7,000 season tickets for next season.......

Recommended Posts

Were we have sold nearly 18,000 and we could end up playing in league 1. At the end of the day, this proves we are a far bigger club than those idiots down the A140. 7,000 for a championship team is a joke. Colchester and MK dons are bigger clubs!

What the f**k does it matter? They would still finish above us if NO-ONE watched them as they have found the new investment that we never bothered to look for. And that''s what matters, money in the boardroom, not bums on seats.

I am sick of being part of some "community project" that just happens to have a failed football team attached to it.

What makes a " BIG" club , their history is far better than ours ,League champions ,F.A cup winners , UEFA cup winners , against our 2 League cups, Their ground holds more than ours too . The reality is we are two similar sized clubs , and if we only had 7000 season ticket holders maybe the people that run our club would do something about putting a half decent team on the pitch. 5 years ago we were miles ahead of them , they were struggling , couldnt afford to buy anybody and the club was on its knees , now the positions are reversed and we are miles behind them , this summer they will strengthen yet again and we will get weaker .Untill we get an owner who wants a good football team first and foremost we are buggered.

No, we''re the third best supported team in the League. Derby & Sheff U have larger average attendances. There''s no point in comparing against % capacity.

Of course there is a point as if our capacity was larger then so would our attendances be - as evidenced by posters on here every week bemoaning the fact they cannot get tickets.

I am not saying we could fill a 40,000 stadium but think there is a lot to be said for the strength of our support.

Although I still think there support is pretty bad they will still be in the championship next season which may not be the case for us. Although for anyone who got the matchday programme yesterday page 7 is very amusing with the club trying to accuse the media of getting season ticket figures and attendance figures wrong and Ipswich have ofcourse come up with their own figures which are alot better looking than those printed in the paper.

And i mean if we do go down to league one next season which is look a very good possibility now then we will have at least 19,000 supporters for most home games to really back the team and it will be a tough season but a big crowd can really help to roar the team on.
They couldn''t even sell all the tickets yesterday for what is by far their biggest match of the season. PATHETIC!!
I would settle for their position at the mo, at least they try for success ,all we try for is to survive.

Who gives a t**s. Perhaps if we concentrated more on putting a decent team on the pitch rather than continuously patting ourselves on the back for filling the ground every week then we might get somewhere. Yes its good that we have loyal fans but it would be a damn site better if i felt it made a genuine difference to how good our team is in comparison to other teams in the league. As it is it does not appear to make a blind bit of difference. Having said that maybe it will do next year as surely we will be able to have a bigger budget than most of the other league 1 clubs!

That depends on whether you believe what ND has said about where our operating budget needs to be.

I can see us having little to spend as will be all about the money brought in from selling off the crown jewels.

Sorry but I fail to see how loyalty to the club and loyalty to the board have to be one and the same.

I am no fan of ND and think the board''s position has become untenable but that will not stop me going to games and cheering and singing for the team.

We will be the fourth best team on the Look East highlights next season, behind scum, Peterbrough, MK Mongs (and maybe even Col Who).

A total, and utter, disgrace. F**k off you stupid old bitch and take your hangers on with you.

FAO Mick Dennis - "hangers on" = you.

But they won the game and will be in the champioship next season, the only people who care about season tickets is the board. I don''t care how many we''ve sold as I''d rather have ambition from our board and a squad that is ours than a higher percentage of season tickets. Am I right in thinking that people have the chance to cancel their membership, because if we go down to league 1 expect the attendances to drop off as well.

What matters how many people attend games, not the fact that they''ve paid for their ticket months in advance only to have the wool pulled over their eyes like the Huckerby scenario.

I''d much rather we''d sold 7000 season tickets and were in their position, having all these season ticket holders has done us no good whatsoever.

Maybe some of our fans should start looking at our team before laughing at Ipswich.

If we were above them this fact might hold some relevance, but at present who give a s**t!

Truth is most Town fans feel more let down than us , it was OPERATION PREMIERSHIP this season and they have wasted all their £12 million on sub standard players , thats a lot of money to finish mid table in the Championship .And theres even rumours that Warnock is going to replace Tragic .
Perhaps, but you may need to enlighten me on which point I am missing. By the look of your sentence the fact that the fans are loyal by renewing their season tickets is destroying the club, so they shouldn''t turn up and support them. Nope, still not sure which point i''m missing?

Renewing in such numbers so far in advance means that the board don''t have to try very hard to get bums on seats.   That, in a nutshell, is why we are where we are.  You make it far, far too easy for them.   You may not intend it to be a vote of confidence in the way the club is run, but that''s how they''ll interpret it if it suits them to.
