WeAreYellows49 0 Posted April 13, 2009
Absolute star. I particularly loved the fact that the guy sitting behind me spent the first half slagging him off, saying he was useless and unfit, couldn''t control himself etc etc, only to start cheering him as he ran riot in the second half. Loved the fact that he gestured to all four stands after the game. Deserved a goal so much, and had it not behind for the muppets in black he would have had one.
lol had some nuggets behind us last week who were slagging him off calling him scum and booing, it was a different story today with the same fans cheering him, now it was either they have woken up that he''s now playing in Y&G, or the rollocking I gave them last week finally sunk in.[:)]I think he could be great as a perm signing for us, he''s the kind of player NCFC has wanted for 4 or 5 years. Nigel Worthless 0 Posted April 13, 2009 Alan Lee is absolute quality. Was a different class today. If anything I would say he is technically better than Iwan & he is certainly quicker. He will cause any team problems!!

If he scores for us and helps keep us up then i''m happy. If he''s crap and does nothing but waste our money then i''ll slag him off as much as anyone else. I am concerned that we seem to be investing a lot of money into the search for a big man up front. Mooney is a big lad as is cort and then there''s Killen who''s wages we''re still paying and who we can call back anytime. Bit odd, i''d rather see another combative centre mid to replace rusty or a winger to cover Hoolahan.........................................a bit short sighted i feel??? Maybe not, maybe he''ll score a hatrick against his old club and keep us up at Portman road............   Report   19/03/2009, 3:51 AM Jimmy Smith Joined on 16/11/2005 Posts 1,314 Re: Alan Lee well he''s tall, knows where the back of the net is and isn''t a donkey the 3 qualities that Cort is trying hard (and doing well with) to obtain, maybe Gow can play midfield now. Might as well give him a go, he''s a proper defined Championship striker which is what we need now if Gow has to cover centre mid. I liked him at rotherham. Not a signing to impress ur unknowledgeable prem team supporting mates, but i bet my mate who supports burnley will understand and agree wit me in saying he could prove a shrewd piece of business, especially on a free for a proper fulltime contract. we''ll see i guess. Not gonna get lupoliesque overly excited, even if i do think he''ll fare better than that spindly little Italian.Good luck Al, just don''t do a Cloughie-Leeds on us! Dicky 0 Posted April 13, 2009 I think he''s just what we need. I for one loved Trevor Putney when he came here. Like the players that add a bit of steel to the team. Other than Rusty and The Doc, I feel that we lack that physicality in the team. Very much looking forward to seeing Lee next Sunday. Not sure he will last the full 90, but think he will be well up for it.
ca 1 Posted April 13, 2009 He signed a 3 yr contract with Palace last August so guess he''d cost us a bit wouldn''t he plus I understand he''s on quite high wages.

Jim Smith 2,314 Posted April 13, 2009 Ex scum or not the effort and commitment he has put in during every game hes played has been immense. Actually thought he looked a bit tired today but still a great effort. I am sure he will score next week! My only concern is that he watches the discipline. We cannot afford another red and i also think he has 4 yellows now? Another next week and presumably he would be suspended for reading? Alternatively he could end up suspended for charlton. ca 1 Posted April 13, 2009 Don''t they have to get to 10 yellows after March 1st when all the others are wiped out?Agree he looked shattered in the 2nd half but he never gave up did he?
Lambo 0 Posted April 13, 2009 I admired him when he was at Ipswich, been a great signing for us. Hat''s off to Gunny for having the cajones to actually go through with it baring in mind the reaction he knew it''d probably get.
ncfcstar 287 Posted April 13, 2009 I hated him when he was at Ipswich, I really did. But the work rate he put in today was unbelievable, he was constantly going for the whole match, and it is something we''ve missed for a long time. If we''d had him from the start of the season I have no doubt that we wouldn''t be where we are now. A great performance, and a shame it didn''t get the goal it well and truly deserved. Here''s hoping he nets one at Portman Road next weekend.

Hackney Canary 0 Posted April 14, 2009 Just to add to the love-in for the ex-binner, I also thought he was immense yesterday, and the game before, and the game before. All the fist-pumping before, during and after the match. The run to Gunn in the Swansea game. The tremendous work rate. The willingness to put his body on the line. And then there''s this, from the Doc:"It was tough for him being an ex-Ipswich player, but I think the fanshave really taken to him because I have never seen a player work thathard in my life - he really is 110 pc and that''s what you need upfront."Amen to that. Roll on Sunday.

matt crowhurst 0 Posted April 14, 2009 Thought he was absolutely brilliant yesterday but is anybody else a bit concerned that he may get sent off on Sunday, especially when he cant keep his mouth shut, not that i want him to as he''s like Rooney and take that away and you get half the player.
