Can Gunn be our new Archie Macaulay?

Recommended Posts

Archie was the man who, under the astute Chairnanship of Arthur South, launched us from a similar position of despair and penury into orbit for much of the last 50 years.

A Scot with an excellent eye for a player - whether a local lad, top tier cast-off, ''foreigner'', veteran - who was above all a wonderful psychologist and whose team gave birth to playing winning football the Norwich way.

Can Bryan emulate Archie?

He wanted the job so much - and he''s been trusted with it. Maybe as Team Gunn he can.

Now wouldn''t that be something to behold; a modern fairy tale.

They''ve made an impressive start.

Let''s hope.

Unfortunately the game has moved on massively in recent years, gone are the days where a manager with little or no funds can build a highly successful side, obviously it''s still vital to be able to spot a good player for a decent price but unless funds are given to whoever is in charge we can''t establish ourselves in the top tier

My sincere apologies to all our good folk for my goof - it was about 1.30 am my time and under a mist of Hock and Drambuie. [:$]Although that''s really no excuse, having been around at the time unlike some of you.[:P]

Of course, Watling was the man of the moment, strongly enabled by by the community leadership of Mayor Arthur South - as I recall.

I notice plenty of will to chortle but little will to engage the topic.[:-*]

Pity

Now, c''mon let''s be havin'' yer!!!

[:)]

One love. Still.

You''re willing to assert, Robby. Are you willing to reason ''why not''?

No, I thought I''d play at your game this time.

Three unconnected sentences.

Assertion without reason.

It was ‘92. It was ‘91. Keelan was in goal. No, it was Gunn. Ah yes! Bly remembers it well. We went with friends. We went alone. Cross scored the goal. No, it was Bone. Ah yes! Bly remembers it well. That Saturday game! It was a Wednesday night, Smith was to blame. That''s right! That''s right! It warms my heart to know that you remember still the way you do. Ah yes! Bly remembers it well.

Very pretty nigel. Sweet really.

Pity you never knew Archie''s team though.

Not quite the same just reading about it is it?[;)]

Still, never mind there. We can''t have everything can we.
