BlyBlyBabes 0 Posted March 23, 2009 Archie was the man who, under the astute Chairnanship of Arthur South, launched us from a similar position of despair and penury into orbit for much of the last 50 years.A Scot with an excellent eye for a player - whether a local lad, top tier cast-off, ''foreigner'', veteran - who was above all a wonderful psychologist and whose team gave birth to playing winning football the Norwich way. Can Bryan emulate Archie? He wanted the job so much - and he''s been trusted with it. Maybe as Team Gunn he can.Now wouldn''t that be something to behold; a modern fairy tale. They''ve made an impressive start. Let''s hope.OTBC

Canary_on_the Trent 0 Posted March 23, 2009 Unfortunately the game has moved on massively in recent years, gone are the days where a manager with little or no funds can build a highly successful side, obviously it''s still vital to be able to spot a good player for a decent price but unless funds are given to whoever is in charge we can''t establish ourselves in the top tier

BlyBlyBabes 0 Posted March 23, 2009 My sincere apologies to all our good folk for my goof - it was about 1.30 am my time and under a mist of Hock and Drambuie. [:$]Although that''s really no excuse, having been around at the time unlike some of you.[:P]Of course, Watling was the man of the moment, strongly enabled by by the community leadership of Mayor Arthur South - as I recall.I notice plenty of will to chortle but little will to engage the topic.[:-*]PityNow, c''mon let''s be havin'' yer!!![:)]One love.
