Bentley bust up

Recommended Posts

I totally believe you DD, and what''s more, I believed Northern Canary when he first posted it.But......the point is, do I care? No. The reason - because whatever happened between NW and DB needed to happen, in my opinion.Bentley could do with a rocket up his *rse and hopefully Nigel gave it to him in no uncertain terms. This is my point about the constant rumours of "fall-outs" with the manager. A lot of them NEED to happen, and sometimes a good bust up can put the wind up a player enough to raise his performance levels.I think that regarding "training ground incidents" we should say whatever will be will be.
Iv heard that Worthy and Bentley have had a fall out at the training ground or something. Does anybody know anything about this?
I cannot confirm it to be very honest but I did think so if refer to what I saw in Colney on 26th October 2004...

This one''s true - it must be, it''s in the EDP. NW had a go at Bentlegs for his work rate. If that''s IT - the "falling out" - then he should do it on a regular basis with all the players. It''s what football managers do. Except Arsene Wenger probably, but then he has a whole squad of self-motivating geniuses so he doesn''t need to.

I heard from one of the training team that Worthington and Bently had had a huge bust up over the state of Bently''s barnet. Apparently, Worthy told him that instead of spending all that time in front of the mirror grooming his manly mane, and using ridiculous amounts of gel and hairspray to prop up bits of hair in the middle to spectacular effect, he needs to get stuck in and get a nice efficient close trim. Worthy says he won''t let the youngsters have such flamboyant haircuts until they''ve proved themselves. Hence Huckerby''s stylish mullet. My contact says that Bently told him to eff off because he''s got every right to spend all his waking hours thinking about his hair and when he has to go to the hairdresser in London''s fashionable West End, no one''s going to stop him, because he''s all grown up at 19. There, I''ve said it

Good point. Let''s look at the evidence...

Green - Proved himself to be the best keeper outside the Premiership and breaking into the England team all with a neat hairstyle. Then, after he''s established himself he goes all scarecrow on us.

Brennan - Went for the streak of wee down the middle of his barnet - too flamboyant too soon. Result - banished to the Reserves.

Henderson - Has always looked like his Mum cuts his hair so hasn''t seen as much first-team action as he should have.

Jarvis - Mulleted too soon, hence no first-team action.

Fleming, Charlton, Holt, Francis, Drury, Edworthy, Leon - all have hardly any hair or sensible haircuts = first team regulars.

Helveg - A stylish hairstyle that suits his play. Should be a first team regular...

Anyway, I best stop before I start sounding like one of Susie''s columns!

there it is. Conclusive evidence. It would also explain why Rivers was shipped out after doing that bleach job on his hair, and why little Paul McVeigh has been on the bench far too often in place of a man with a very sensible haircut indeed.

Now then, I think some of you need to apologise for the excessively flippant tone of these posts. Don''t you lot understand how seismic this "falling out" is, and how it shows that Worthy is unfit to be a manager if he "falls out" with his players? He just doesn''t understand that these are very very sensitive people, easily hurt by criticism. Maybe an anger-management course would be a good idea. For me, that is, cos I can''t stand all this garbage. AAAAARRRRRGGGHHHHHH.......

It would appear that Northern Canary''s source of rumour was quite sound and his credibility for future inside info is considerably enhanced. Well done N C !

p.s. whisper, heard anything about January''s..........

You know some Tories? I didn''t realise they still existed!

The Guardian rocks, it''s the only paper worth parting with money for.

So there we have it.  Bentley has been a naughty boy and upset papa Worthy.  A bit different from his form has dipped.  Lets hope they kiss and make up soon and that Bentley can reach the form that he is undoubtedly capable of.

Just read on another site that Bentley

..... when found out he wasn''t in the squad to face Blackburn stormed out, ran across the pitch and scaled a fence in the new corner infill to get to his car + speed off in his car, only to return an hour later with his tail between his legs ?

So it seems it hasn''t really been sorted out yet. The way it''s going if he carries on like this, can''t see him getting a game again. Wonder what Arsene Wenger thinks of all this? Sending an up and coming player out on loan to get experience and then seeing him not getting a game.

this quote just sums up what the nationals know about our club

the team never go to FCR except on matchdays, so why would bentley be scaling any fence near the corner infill? and if his car were parked near there it would be part of the building site, can''t see any footballer risking getting a spot of mud on their precious wheels can you?

we all know the reason bentley is here, a sweetner for the eventual sale of greeno to arsenal, do we play football arsenal style (sadly no), so why would wenger wish his youngster to be versed in the art of hoof and hope?  unless there was something very big in it for him (greeno on the cheap)

let''s just hope greeno doesn''t go in january!  for the record i would like to see more of bentley, but we know what worthy thinks of creative players and anyone with a bit of spark  so i won''t hold my breath

Confirms my feelings that Arsene has been extremely canny here.

Back at Highbury last Summer.

Hmmmm,

Bentley, a problem child, forever banging on my door demanding attention. Handbags and tantrums. And Dad on the phone too.

Thinks

Where can I send him to to rid myself of this hassle.

Eureka

One of those promoted teams may just swallow the bait.

What''s the phone number for Carrow Road, Pat.

Monsier Worthington. I have a bon deal for you - but be queek before Meester Megson gets to hear.......
