greenbird 0 Posted February 27, 2009 I hope Brian Gunn plays Carney tomorrow, I listened to the Wolves match and he was my man of the match, he hasn''t played since. Please don''t play Killen, Cort and Daley would be my pick, with Cody on for the last 20 minutes.
paul ncfc 0 Posted February 27, 2009 For Gunn to play Carney he would have to drop Hooli or Jamie, whether right or wrong can''t see him dropping either.

But also agree that I cant see hoola, curo and Carney all starting.

barclay seats 4849 0 Posted February 27, 2009 Why play Daley ?????? He couldn''t even get near the ball when he came on last week !!!! He was completely out of his depth playing first team football. I agree with the need to give Carney a go ,,I had the same positive feeling after the wolves game too .
ZLF 271 Posted February 27, 2009 Unlike Killen who looked completely incompetent Daley was not given a ball to do anythng with. Give him more than 15 mins to impress or reject please

Mister Chops 7 Posted February 27, 2009 1 up front at home against Coventry... right.... great idea. We need to beat these clowns, not put 2 up front which sends completely the wrong message.Cureton will start as he scored last week. Same starting XI as against Burnley, in other words. Alex Harvey-Jones 0 Posted February 27, 2009 Totally agree about Carney - Cort wins a lot in the air so we need someone on the wing who can put in a decent cross. However I disagree about Hoolahan playing off Cort - there is not sufficient threat on goal from the two of them. Hoolahan can link play but he''s not going to score many goals and Cort can win headers and hold the ball up but again is not going to score many. If Hoolahan is going to play then we need someone else up front alongside Cort like Gow or McDonald with Hoolahan in a free role between them or playing on the left. paul moy 235 Posted February 27, 2009 I agree with the sentiments regarding Carney, and I was very disappointed that he was not involved in the previous game. I can only assume that he was injured !!
whoareyou? 0 Posted February 27, 2009 Carney did OK against Wolves and showed some decent touches...but he wasn''t a match winner that night!

sydmick 0 Posted February 28, 2009 I agree that David Carney should be given a chance against Coventry, here''s a link to a great goal he scored for Australia in a friendly against Nigeria in London.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uj0QyNQYH1A

We failed to get the ball to him in areas where he could make an impact, ie: utilising his pace. When he came on Cort was gone and we had Killen there, who won nothing. From what i saw as usual we created nothing for the strikers, Killen made no impact and Daley never stood a chance. How you can say he couldnt get near the ball and was out of his depth is beyond me.
