Jonzey 0 Posted February 16, 2009 ....with the credit crunch and all meaning fewer wealthy people will want to start throwing money into football clubs, maybe the game will start to even it''s self out with the tinpot Blackburn and Wigan type clubs dropping away. And well run and supported clubs catching up the previously bankrolled fashion accessories. And if clubs are made to be self sufficient, as hints from Platini et all suggest - and quite rightly so, then surely we''d be in a great position?Or am I being the eternal optimist? Clutching at straws etc?

nutty nigel 7,528 Posted February 17, 2009 I think you make a very good point Jonzey. But that''s long term and I think most people would accept that in the long term football will have to go back to sustaining itself. But in the short term it''s what we have now, and that''s maybe why your post drifted overnight, because in the short term fans are scared we could be relegated.
