Mister Chops 7 Posted February 22, 2009 I see an awful lot of crap on this board, and indeed I write more than my fair share, but can we think seriously for a minute about this half-baked accusation that some fans would "accept relegation" or "be happy with relegation"?I do not believe there is one person supporting the club who would be happy with relegation. I do believe people would accept it, as we have to accept other things which don''t go our way and yet over which we have little or no control. But the thing that irritates me most are the posters who say "people are buying season tickets, they must be looking forward to relegation".I have renewed my season ticket because I support the team and want to show that support. Nobody ever promised that supporting a football club would be all joy and light, and if they go to League One I will be there to support them in their efforts to get back up. Does that make me a board stooge? No. Does that make me a happy clappy Delia worshipper? No. It makes me a supporter. End of.
Dicky 0 Posted February 22, 2009 Spot on post Mr Chops. True supporters will support their club through thick and thin, but it doesn''t mean that they are happy with the situation (of course nobody is at the moment) or are supporters of the board or manager. gazzathegreat 0 Posted February 22, 2009 Chops I have to agree I don''t think anyone who is a supporter really wishes for relegation. The price we would pay for that is far greater than anything I expect we could even imagine at this stage. Personally I won''t accept the recurring reasons for it (should it happen) and would myself, constantly question those accountable.I have renewed also - and time after time find myself having to justify the reason why. Like you I don''t consider myself a board stooge or a Delia lover, far from it. I consider myself a supporter and thankfully, can remember times when the current board were not in charge. Like you, I can take the bad times with the good. NCFC is not the board, it''s the club and those two are not the same thing.By the way, how''s the follow up to the Wizard of Oz going? Mister Chops 7 Posted February 22, 2009
By the way, how''s the follow up to the Wizard of Oz going?
I was thinking about writing a rock opera about Darren Huckerby, a bit like "Tommy" but with rubbish music. What do you think?
