Cant believe we didnt get Davies

Recommended Posts

Nicked from PNE official board."Instead

of just sitting there and doing nothing at Stoke I want to come here

and play football and try and help the lads achieve promotion."I''m

really looking forward to it, it''s a good opportunity for me. I haven''t

played for quite a few months so it''s going to be a good challenge for

me so I am looking forward to it."Davies is no stranger to the

Championship having skippered Southampton at this level only last

season, the former Middlesbrough man has also got plenty of top flight

experience to his name as well as a solitary England Under-21 cap.He

said: "I was at Middlesbrough for a long time and then I played at

Southampton last year, it''s a tough division and I''ve played against

Preston a few times, they''re a good team and I am really looking

forward to getting involved with the lads."I''m back to full

fitness now, when I signed for Stoke I was injured and the injury just

took a little bit longer than what was expected really. At Stoke there

hasn''t really been a lot of reserve games to play so my games have been

limited so this is a good opportunity for me."Davies is

expected to go straight into contention for Saturday''s Championship

clash against Norwich City, a team who Davies has been strongly linked

with in the past week."I spoke to them earlier this week but

they wanted to take me for the rest of the season and I didn''t feel it

was the right move for me, in terms of the location. I could have been

playing for Norwich this weekend but instead I''ll be lining up against

them."It seems we missed out because of location again....strange that he was all set to sign but couldn''t manage to because of the snow.

It sounds as though he wasn''t that keen in the first place and the snow excuse was convenient.  We have Shackell who isn''t match fit, but has played alongside Doherty, and they have Davies who isn''t match fit and hasn''t played in Preston''s back four; so I guess it evens itself out.

Don''t be silly. What Davies obviously said was:

"I spoke to them earlier this week but they wanted to take me for the rest of the season and I didn''t feel it was the right move for me, in terms of the their board being evil batman villains who are stealing all the cash, have no ambition, and are sitting in their ivory towers cackling maniacally as they rip the fans off again and again. I could have been playing for Norwich this weekend but instead I''ll be lining up against them."

And to suggest anything else would clearly make you a Binner.
