Not sure if this has been posted already but I was wondering whether we have had a Ausie and a New Zealand''er play for us before? Im trying to think and can''t remember one...

Wynton Rufer was a New Zealander, can''t think of any Aussies though apart from Crooky lol.

[/quote]I''ve got his autograph somewhere,  I remember going up to Trowse and getting the players signatures and he was one of them.  He was a pretty good player, but there was a work permit problem I think.

The memory is a bit vague, but as mentioned above, there was a work permit problem, so he never actually played for us. Pity, he knew where the net was, didn''t he.

I seem to remember his brother joined at the same time, with the same work permit problem.

I seem to remember his brother came over at the same time for a trial. We were pretty desparate to sign Wynton, he was just we needed at the time.

We wanted to sign Wynton and his brother Shane,it coincided with the 82 World Cup but as has already been said no permits were granted.Although at the time I couldn''t work out how Liverpool were allowed to have Craig Johnston.......the innocence of youth!!

I was some what sceptical of players from this part of the world at first but Carney looks promising so could well be a very wise move to get Chippy in!
