OT..Away kit

Recommended Posts

I know its slightly pedantic but you would think that when deciding what colour our away kit should be for a season, a bit of research should be done into the clubs that we would be clashing with. The only two occasions this season where we would genuinely need to wear a change kit are at Watford and Wolves both of whom wear black shorts ,resulting in us wearing a garish black and green combo. Bring back the white/green away kits of the 80''s - early 90''s !!

I always thought that if you had green shirts and yellow shorts for the away kit then in the unlikely event of both sets clashing, then you could play in all green or all yellow. NAH. too simple! [8-|]

But then they wouldn''t be able to sell a different colour every year! I think the decisions on colours are more around commercial interests rather than practicality.

I''d like to see the 1902 kit (like Blackburn''s but with light blue instead of normal blue) used as our away kit, like we did in 2002 to celebrate the centenary of the club. I also loved the dark green ones we used in 2003 to 2006, they went really well with the lotus logo and looked good. Not many clubs wear green, and I can''t think of any that wear all green, except Celtic''s away kit recently.

I would favour a white kit...perhaps one similiar to palace''s current home kit...with a green and yellow sash?

I was just looking for an image of our all-time classic 1976 white Adidas away kit and I found this interesting page. There''s a photo of the team early last century with the blue and white kit, but not all the players have a blue left half and white right half - there''s an amusing explanation of why that is:Just do a control f and search for Norwich on the pagehttp://images.google.cl/imgres?imgurl=http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Norwich_City/photos/norwich-city-1905-06-400.png&imgrefurl=http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Articles/Updates.htm&usg=__uykTuNNMOag2KCi4rPp8GChAFn0=&h=244&w=400&sz=65&hl=es&start=7&um=1&tbnid=tN0cSQgFb7XOJM:&tbnh=76&tbnw=124&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dnorwich%2Bcity%2B%2522away%2Bkit%2522%2B1976%26um%3D1%26hl%3Des%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DG
I''m a bit too young to remember much from 1976 but I thought we only had an Adidas kit in the early 80''s?  The white with green pinstripes was (along with the Hummel) my favourite away kit.

Ah cheers, nice one.  I''ve still got my Admiral home shirt from 1978,  possibly the most uncomfortable garment I''ve ever worn. I think there is probably health and safety laws in place nowadays to prevent children''s clothes being made from a material with all the comfort properties of fibreglass loft insulation.....
John Lovett, writing about yesterday''s varying halved shirts worn by Norwich suggests the

reason teams who wore halved shirts didn''t always match long ago was

because the team would buy six white shirts and six blue shirts and get

the players wives, mothers or girlfriends to cut them in half and

stitch them back together
