The Colonel 0 Posted January 22, 2009 I believe I am right in thinking that both Croft and Doherty are out of contract in the summer. In my opinion both of these players have been 2 of our better players this season (along with Clingan). What are the chances of them wanting to sign a contract now? Imagine the questions they will be asking? Will the club be in the Championship next season?Who will the manager be next season? Will the new manager like me as a player and want me to play for him? I believe it is possible that this will have the same effect on players that Gunn tries to sign in the current transfer window? will they want to sign for a club that might get relegate and will they sign for a manager that only has a contract til the summer?! Paul Spector 0 Posted January 22, 2009 Didn''t Doc re-sign last summer?
Binky 0 Posted January 22, 2009 Come July they will know if we are staying up. Actually, they will probably have a pretty good idea after they have played another 8 games. Are you suggesting that having Roeder still in place would either have enhanced our chances of staying up or persuading them to resign? (I don''t think so on both counts). GJP 79 Posted January 22, 2009 Surely getting Crofty on a new contract will be a priority? We''d struggle to get anyone near as good as him.
Tangible Fixed Assets anyone? 0 Posted January 22, 2009
Didn''t Doc re-sign last summer?
THE DOC signed a two year contract last summer.Players out of contract this summer are: Croft, Fozzy, Lappin, Nelson, Spillane (?) and the Eagle hasn''t landed. There may be some other youngsters too.
The Colonel 0 Posted January 22, 2009 yes my mistake, Doc did sign a two year extension, for some reason I thought it was only one!
