Hi all,

As you will see from my username, I am indeed a Donny fan. It''s nice to see that you have sold over 1,000 tickets for Friday''s game, and aside from the result, hope you have a good trip to Donny. For those that are coming by train, you are better off getting either a Taxi or a Bus to the ground, because despite what a certain Rovers fan says, it''s a 20 minute walk to the ground...not 10! The Bus Station is next to the station, so don''t have to walk far and get a bus to the Lakeside which departs from block C4. Those coming by car, then come off Junction 3 of the M18 and the stadium is sign posted once leaving the motorway. Regarding pubs and places to eat, I recommend the Beefeater pub a few minutes walk from the ground - it is a family friendly pub which does allow away fans in, it''s ok, it is safe. There are a few food outlets near Yorkshire Outlet - namely McDonald''s, Pizza Hut and KFC. If anyone fancies a walk round the lake, there is Cheswolds which is a family friendly pub which you are welcome in (next to the Cinema) which serves food. You can park in the stadium car parks for a 5er I think it is, or you can park in the industrial outlet car parks near the ground for 4 quid, but be warned - leaving the area after the game can be a nightmare because of the road system. In the main, we are a friendly bunch of fans, but of course, there are a few idiots like at any other club, you should be ok though ;)

See you friday

To Donny fan: Thanks you very much for that info, very kind of you!

My villa supporting mate went there last weekend and told me that yes indeed it was a 20 min walk rather than the 10 that some are suggesting. He also recommended the beefeater pub which apparently is always full of travelling fans.

Once again though i''m sure I speak for all those that are going on friday when I say thanks very much!

There might be one thing we might need from you though....

Three points ok?

Thanks Donny fan, I am lucky in that my mate lives near the lake and I will stay there for the night. But my brother is also coming, so would it be better for him to park near the lake at my mates house rather than try and get nearer the ground and pay £4? I am not sure how busy the road system gets after a game. We normally eat at the Cheswold pub near the cinema, it always seems pretty decent for food. Well, hope its a good game and nice to see a fair old turn our from the yellows, shame it isn''t on Saturday since there would have been a massive turn out indeed.

Thanks Mate

What about town centre pubs? Have heard there are lots but struggling to find a decent guide?

I''d expect there will be around 2,000 of us which is not bad for a Friday night away game! Should be a decent atmosphere!

To answer a few points made. Marty - parking at your mates will be fine, mate, it is a safe area, so there should be no problem.

Another note on places to park. If you''re coming by car, then following the signs to the stadium, if you carry on along the dual carriageway, past the lake and stadium, head towards the racecourse, you will see a car park on your left - near the cinema and Cheswold etc. You can park in there free of charge and walk round the lake to the ground (10 mins). Again though, be warned, getting away after the game can be a pain.

Jim - Best bet for a pre-match pint in town is the Tut''n''Shive inbetween The Plough and Burger King near the Frenchgate Centre. If you''re coming by Train, come out of the station and over the forecourt, you will see a crossing, over the crossing and right, and turn the first left where Staveley''s shop is and the Tut is on the left after the Plough. The Tut won a CAMRA award in 2004 and is frequented by Rovers fans on a matchday, so now worries. The landlord there is a good guy and you can have a good craic with him. For those that are planning on sampling the Donny nightlife after the game, then head down Silver Street where all the bars and nightclubs are, there are also bars on HALLGATE that are popular. ENJOY!

Finally a word of warning on the stadium itself. I am not sure if away fans are able to buy a drink in the away end after Millwall''s visit last season where they caused problems, but if you do get a few pints, then it costs 2.90 for a lager and I think it''s same for Bitter.

Any other questions, then feel free to ask, though I am off to Sheffield United later, so probably won''t answer any queries tonight.

PS -  Jim, if you do decide to drink in the Tut and don''t fancy walking to the ground, then if you walk round the corner, there is a Taxi Rank opposite McDonalds.

Didn''t there used to be a pub called the white bear in the centre of Donny? I lived in the USA for a couple of years and when I arrived back to the UK this was my first pub visit, it really was a massive culture shock and I can''t say I was glad to be home. My mate said is was nicknamed the "fight bear"! Apart from that Donny seems OK. Looking forward to the game and the Norwich turn out is sounding really good.

It looks like being a Norwich turnout of 1,500, out of a likely attendance of 11,000, so should win hands down on the noise front!
