Reckoner 0 Posted January 17, 2009 Anyone else notice this? First he wanted to take the penalty but Sammy took the ball off him, so he sulked. Then after he set up the 4th goal he looked annoyed for some reason. Then at full-time he ran straight down the tunnel, what was all that about?I like him as a player but he looked really detached from the team today, when we scored he didn''t celebrate with the rest of the team. Could he be on his way out?
SitTee 0 Posted January 17, 2009 Nah, he just really wanted a goal and hoped to start now roeder went. He will get games soon though,
Charles 0 Posted January 17, 2009 Hardly a tantrum. And he did celebrate when we scored the penalty. I think you are looking for trouble where this is none!!
Paul Spector 0 Posted January 17, 2009 Yep, also had a sulk when Patty didn''t pass to him at one stage. Think the new manager will need to put an arm around him and get him mixing with the other lads and working as a team.Hope can be sorted as he could be a really good player for us. John 0 Posted January 17, 2009 I think he truly loves this club, and has an affinity with the fans.He just wanted his chance to prove himself today, and unfortunately no one gave him a chance to. If we start him against Southampton, and chant his name, he''ll love it and continue to play for us and the club for it.He''s a great and expressive character, we just need to make sure we give him his chances. Largey 0 Posted January 17, 2009 According to Adams on Radio Norfolk, he was livid that Patty hadn''t passed to him (for a simple finish) when we counter-attacked four-on-two.Can''t deny a striker wanting to score can ya!

Canary_on_the Trent 0 Posted January 17, 2009 He''s an italian striker, they like to express themselvesif a striker wasn''t frustrated about not taking a penalty or missing out on an easy chance then there is something wrong, obviously we''re not in the know but he seems like a guy who needs to be loved and have an arm around his shoulder

All i was doing was saying what i saw, and to me he looked annoyed.

JJ 0 Posted January 17, 2009 I didn''t see it, but interestingly, I heard a while back the same thing happened at the end of the Wolves game. In any case, he''ll have to settle for the bench again next time after Curo''s performance.
take away cureton''s goal and u would say that he didn''t perform at all. id rather see russel in midfield and lupoli with cureton
Gingerpele 0 Posted January 17, 2009 He also was upset when Patty had a shot rather than passing to an open, would have scored Lupoli
Gingerpele 0 Posted January 17, 2009 oh also, i think he should take the penalty, he is a striker, Cligan has no need to score goals, he is a Defensive midfielder, Lupoli should have taken

JJ 0 Posted January 17, 2009 Would have been a bit harsh on Sammy considering he''s put away our other spot-kicks. Have we found potentially our best penalty taker since Neil Adams?
spm2866 0 Posted January 17, 2009 Give Lupoli a break he just wants to play football for his team!Stop trying to find issues, this club and us have had a gut full......OTBC since 1969

kilo6 0 Posted January 17, 2009 after patterson not passing to him he had a good moan towards the bench as he walked back, looked really cheesed off....... a team 3-0 up at the time eager for more goals is a good place to be!!!
Tony Cottee Woz Ere . . . 0 Posted January 17, 2009 Why shouldn''t he be pissed off? Dropped again after being our most lively player the last couple of games? He is still the best striker we have at the club, does more in games than cureton and has the best goals to game ratio at the club. Jamie really didn''t do much today apart from the goal he was gifted. Don''t get me wrong i love jc and know he is norwich through and through but if it''s a choice between the two it has to be lupoli every time. He''s got every right to feel aggreived and the way he''s been treated at this club i wouldn''t blame him one bit for moving to the saints.

Lennon7 0 Posted January 17, 2009 Yeah I noticed it, wasn''t really sure what to make of it. I was too busy enjoying the moment though.I guess his passion just got the better of him, he wanted to be amongst the goals as any striker does.
Big Slob 0 Posted January 17, 2009
oh also, i think he should take the penalty, he is a striker, Cligan has no need to score goals, he is a Defensive midfielder, Lupoli should have taken
NO! Becuase at the end of this season, goal difference might determine if we''re still in this league or not. therefore no matter the score, no matter the position of player, who ever is the designated penalty taker should always take. Gingerpele 0 Posted January 17, 2009 Who said Lupoli cant score penaltys? anyone should be able to score, are under 18 kepper scored it said in the programme, it is all about confidance and luck, only a minor bit of skill comes into it, Lupoli would be able to score just as easily as Clingan, he just got to take the first one (lupoli probley wasnt even on the pitch)

Bristol Canary 152 Posted January 17, 2009 In fairness to Matty as well he had every right to have ago from that position (probably should have tried earlier than he did, but nevermind). And none of the other players were having ago or got pi$$ed off at Lups on tuesday night when he kept taken extra touches instead of passing. And also Sammy is the Penalty taker but can''t blame him for wanting to take it... sorry Arturo.
Houston Canary 0 Posted January 17, 2009 I don''t mind a player having some fire in his belly. Much better than benchwarmers who slink off the sidelines after a loss with a grin on their faces.
