magic_eyes 0 Posted July 26, 2004 Who thinks that making Flem club captain, is the beginning of the end for him? Does this mean that Flem won''t be first choice centre back, with Charlton, Mackay, possibly Primus and even Shackell ahead of him in the pecking order? It seems to me that the role of club captain means an end to a regular starting role, e.g. Neil Emblem and Robbo.I hope not, but is this the playing equivalent of a managers vote of confidence from the board?See you all at Cambridge tomorrow!OTBC
Bayern Eunuch 0 Posted July 27, 2004 I thought the same. Its a cheap alternative to a testimonial.
Mouse 0 Posted July 27, 2004 I would have Primus (if we get him) and Flem as the two centre backs. Flem is better than Mackay, has more experience than Shackell and Charlton is primerily a left back. Just because he has been give the job of club captain doesn''t mean that he isn''t going to play. I belive that he was the best defender on the pitch last season. XXL16 0 Posted August 1, 2004 Fleming had superb pre-season with Charlton, it is now Malky''s turn to concern about his starting place...
