Salopian 1 Posted January 13, 2009 If you are talking about the ("premiership") experienced defender, then GR did say that although he was confident that the other manager would honour his promise it depended on the other manager signing or arranging another player himself. That was about 10 days ago, and GR spoke vaguely of a couple of weeks.It is very likely to be almost the end of January, so don''t hold your breath.I am more concerned that nothing seems to be emerging on the two strikers he said we need. He is still evidently pursuing Lita, although surely no-one else reckons we have any chance, and is still in the queue for Ched. Given that we need two strikers at least, - clearly however willing Russell is he will never be a striker, I am concerned that it seems to be last summer all over again, when we waited and waited (for Iversen?), and then failed. We are now in a much poorer position - no Cureton, No Martin, etc. It seems a pretty desperate hope to finish the season with one striker, Lupoli, whom GR does not rate, plus Hoolahan, yet to score, playing off him.
