No better squad than last year GR! Compare !!!

Glen Roeder keeps telling us that we are having a better squad than last year. Well when we see our performances and constantly changing of the side every match we know this is not true.

 

Our team v QPR in the last home game in season 2007-2008 was:

NORWICH CITY:
Marshall, Otsemobor, Shackell, Doherty, Bertrand, Huckerby, Fotheringham, Gibbs, Pattison, Cureton, Evans.
Subs: Croft, Dublin, Chadwick, Pearce, Russell.

Yesterday it was:

NORWICH CITY:
Marshall, Otsemobor, Omozusi, Doherty, Drury, Croft, Fotheringham, Clingan, Bell, Cort, Lupoli
Subs: Nelson, Bertrand, Hoolahan, Russell, Pattison, Lappin, Smith

 

When I see the first team I think that one was much stronger with Evans,Huckerby and Dublin. They all scored good goals for us.

In our team now we have nothing. Lita, Sibierski and Kennedy have gone. Our own youth product Shackell was sold (why?) and the central defensive partnership has changed more than I can remember. Cureton is scoring his goals for Barnsley. Chadwick was given away as a late Christmas present.

 

Glen Roeder is still talking about Peter Grants team instead of his own. He had the whole summer to sign new players. He didn''t and his excuse for playing only 6 pre season matches was his small squad.

Now it''s january and we have only loaned another defender for two months, Jonathan Grounds again. Almost 3 weeks have gone since the 1st of january when the transfer market started again and it has been quiet, too quiet.

And I''m sure he''s going to wait until the 31st of january, believing he has a chance on Evans .....

And what do we have now, an old slow injured Stefanovic, a injured loan gone Kennedy, a small left back doing his best in central defence Adam Drury and an inexperienced youngster from Fulham on loan again Omozusi.

Tell me why it''s better to have the ''money'' than a solid defender we all like and is already quite experienced for his age. We want to have enough of our own players in the team and not loan after loan after loan .

Oh yes it''s Jonathan Grounds turn now ...

Rubbish business without a proper permanent replacement in such a key position. Grounds is not a centre back he''s a left back and he''s very unexperienced. He''s ok for a couple of matches as cover but for me that''s it. I would much rather see him at left back. We will never grind out results without a solid centre back pairing. Shackell wasnt great but i''d take him over what I''m seeing now and he was norwich through and through.
