CJ 1 Posted January 14, 2009 Where are all those Glenn Roeder fans now as I predicted and many more besides Glenn is just doing what he is best at. He came in and shouted and shaped up a squad lacking in discilpline and got us through last season. He then thought more of the same would do for this year, trouble is after a while the arrogance abuse and shouting etc doesnt work with players or fans come to that. He waas on the way out last season as our form started to drift away as the players got fed up with him.The writing for me was on the wall when he treated Hucks so badly and didnt give a damn what the fans thought. I think we can all agree that Hucks wasnt as good as previous seasons but having see the rubbish delivered by his replacements whom Glenn told us would whow us then I suspect there are now many fans who would love to see Hucks sitting at least on the subs bench instead of in the stands.Glenn has to be fair had bad luck with injuries and a shortage of cash but let us be honest with the exception of Clingan and Lita whilst on loan I can not say any inspire me. The real problem is deciding not to buy in the key places centre forward and centre back and now we are in lottery of January sales with little cash and a position in the league that will not tempt many players to come here.Glenn made a mistake not buying Taylor when he could have and also offering Hucks a new and somewhat reduced wage deal. He also has an arrogance that is offensive at times as Neil Adams found out and can not take critisism especially apparently from the fans even though they in part pay his wages. No matter how expensive Glenn has to go and go soon otherwise we will go down and as big teams like Leicester and Leeds have proven it takes a lot of effort and luck to get back up. As I said before Glenn was appointed I would like to see Paul Ince here, he is a manager who has the right mix of respect from players mixed with awareness of how to mould a team. Blackburn was a step too far for him.I predicetd Glenn would go before Xmas at the start of the season, pity he didnt!
votepedro 0 Posted January 14, 2009 i had been thinking that perhaps it was time to go for hucks, but you''re absolutely right in saying that if brought back he could do a better job than any of our current attacking players. pay as you play or reduced deal, i''m sure he''d take it.
