Good news, let hope we`ve gat  a plan B.

Credit is due to Roeder for what he did last season but as for the rest of his tenure his behaviour and decision making have been  appauling, and made our club a joke.

Where do  we go  from here, had he lined up any  strikers for loan deals and if so will they still be interested. Who will manage the team on Saturday, please dont tell me Ricky  Martin!

Thank goodness for that. Feel as though we have our club back. No doubt now about renewing season ticket.

I''d guess it would be that Tommy Wright, the goalkeeping coach, with a bit of managerial experience, i don''t care, im so happy Roeder has gone!!! Just hope we get a decent appointment to replace him!!

I wonder how much Lee Clarke going affected the dressing room, he was a nice guy in the partneship from what I have been told.
Hucks in the line-up on Saturday?  [:D]  Good luck to GR as well - did''nt want him as Manager but as sure as houses he tried his best.
But all this has done is divert the blame, Don''t get me wronge, he had to go but he was another who tried to work on a shoestring, the sooner our board realise and learns that a manager needs money to run a football club the better off we will all be, ever since Delia has been here we have had one hell of a struggel. Now Delia, do the next best thing, you know what the fans want, DO IT

Great news ,and well done to the board for taking strong action. There is no doubt that he had lost the dressing room and hopefully we will get a new manager surge in results.

The key now is to get the right man, but we also need some players who will sweat blood, so forget the romantic notion of a Hucks return.

Fantastic news, am very surprised the board acted like other people on here. Am worried about who the caretaker manager will be seeing as all Roeder''s staff have gone too, Tommy Wright is the only option really. The next appointment needs to be the right one, but it also needs to happen quickly particularly with how long of the transfer window is left to do any kind of wheeling and dealing. But still the overriding emotion is WOO HOO GET IN!!!

I  cant agree with that Nuff, if he was doing a good job I would  expect to see at least one home grown player making it as a regular first teamer over the last few years.Yes I  know about Joe Lewis, but in fairness the credit for develping goalkeepers goes to the specialist goalkeeping coaches not the accademy director.

Wow!!

I just logged on to say I''ve had enough of Glenn Roeder, to see the news!

My main concern is that the club don''t have to pay out his contract, does anyone know the details of this. It would stick in my throat if he gets his full contract paid up.

This is an excellent move by the board, who finally show they have some balls. To be honest I have tried to defend Roeder on here and that we need to give him time, but the results have become pathetic and it was clear last night that the players had given up on him as had the vast majority of the fans.

The straw that broke the camels back for me was reading this morning was Glenn saying he was such a strong ''human being'' and that nobody could understand as they had not been through what he had (brain tumour). No, no, no, Glenn, you have no idea about the struggles of many people and that was a very poor comment, lamenting about your life. There are people who have had a much worse time than you.

Once again he has proven that he is a poor manager, just see his records at West Ham, Newcastle etc. I apologise to every anti-Roeder poster for ever backing him in public. The guy does not have a clue and is a nasty piece of work for his horrible comments in the press. He should have walked after the Nottingham Forest debacle and it shows just how grubby he is by waiting for the ineveitble sack and inevitable pay out.

Life seems so much better now!

But lets not forget that our board who also need to go have to take some blame for appointing the plank Roeder in the 1st place as they should for the Grant appointment!

Glad they found the balls to do it cause Roeder thought the board wouldn''t sack him cause they couldn''t afford the pay off but I think they realised that this will cheaper in the long run!

Lets also not forget that we''re still in the sh*t and need to get 120% behind the team starting from this Saturday!

So that''s that then.  I got so much stick when Roeder was appointed (not on this board by the way), because I said a few choice words and knew what a nightmare he had been everywhere else.   I was mortified at this man taking charge of our team.  However, I buttoned my lip, stuck by him and watched him clear out the dead wood. I was impressed with what he had to say and thought he was the person to take us places. We flew up the table, but I was happy for slow growth as long as improvement was on the way

Then the tinkering started. The unbeaten run was broken once the likes of Gibbs and Henry got in the side and the formation plus form never recovered. The youngsters were inexperienced and not ready, especially in a dogfight at the bottom - ironic given that GR recently said he wouldn''t throw the Norwich kids in for the same reasons. Joe Lewis was sold in what could prove a major error of judgement, but it wasn''t all his fault - the failure to sign Martin Taylor was down to lack of funds and was another huge mistake by the board.

I still stuck by him, even when Hucks left, although the manner of his leaving was very poorly handled. We needed a new broom and perhaps with some investment we could climb up the league. Hoolahan and Lupoli joined - exciting signings. Clingan and Bell had potential. Stefanovic had experience. But Bell was injured, Stefanovic''s displays waned before injury curtailed him, while Hoops and Loop attracted criticism from the boss and gathered splinters on the bench. And where were the other strikers? Well, we got Sibierski and Cort didn''t we?

Then the loans came in (and out again), and the squad resembled a revolving door as well as a rehab centre (Kennedy, Cort). Some promising youngsters didn’t materialise (Henville, Koroma) while others didn’t live up to their initial promise (Omosuzi, Bertrand). Midfielders were played up front while strikers were left on the bench or sent away. The formations changed, the personnel changed, the captaincy changed on a weekly basis, but results didn’t. Wolves was a fluke. Ipswich was a one-off.  Deep down, nobody was fooled.

The rest is history. The AGM fiasco, the denial about Lee Clark (who saw what was coming and jumped ship), the “ace up my sleeve”, and the increasingly awful results. Forest at home was the low point, at least until Charlton rode into town last night.  I feel sorry for those who went, but perhaps the men from The Valley have done us a favour, albeit a painful one.

In the end I was not sorry to see him go. I think I only loathed Hamilton more as a manager at Norwich. Grant was worse in terms of results, but GR was catching him up fast. Roeder managed to piss off everyone around him, be it the press, the fans, the officials, the FA, and in the end, the players and the board.  The only thing I was sorry about, was that we had to sack him and deprive the club of much needed funds.

I hope we muddle through now to the summer now with whoever we get, hopefully stay up, and pray that we get some investment and some new blood on the board. The club is a shambles. GR was only part of that. I hoped it would work. Part of me still sees what he was trying to do, but somewhere along the line he lost it.

The whole mess isn''t solely down to GR - certainly not. Its also about the hopeless board.  And they’re still here. That’s the scary thing.

Stunned!!

Been watching Southend v Chelsea, turned on teletext to see the other half times and saw the headline. Still can''t quite believe how decisively the Board have acted- credit to them for acting now.

Grant was a decent man who I felt genuinely sorry for. Worthington delivered great memories and just lost his way at the end but again a decent man. Walker, Stringer, Brown, Bond, all good managers who each hold a special place in my City memories. Roeder? I think I''ve forgotten him already.............

Good riddance to Roeder. Glad to see the back of him. Came in from my afternoon walk to hear the good news on Sky Sports. IMHO a caretaker manager over the next couple of matches will have more chance of motivating the players & getting a result than GR would have done.
