Well done Worthy and the Board

Recommended Posts

Worthy has done a superb job in the transfer market in the close-season.
Looking back at the team from last season, and the relative weaknesses that were there compared to the relative strengths of some other areas of the team, he has done an exceptional job at addressing these weaknesses!

Goalkeeper - Green was lacking back-up last season and Worthy has sought after a back-up, and found one in Gallacher, and is now looking for a 3rd choice.

Right Back - Nothing against Eddie, he had a superb season last season, but I think the step-up may have been too much for him, so the signing of Helveg is a superb addition.

Central Defence - Definitely lacking pace last season, but Fleming deservedly won Player of the Season, and is worth a place this season. He has found good competition in Charlton, and now he is actively seeking a pacey defender with aerial ability to sure up the defence furthermore.

Left Back - Drury is amongst the first on the team-sheet every game, and has a good, versatile understudy in Brennan.

Right Midfield - This is where we have been struggling for some time to find a consistent performer, and now I am confident that we have found one in Jonson, who is also happy to play on the left or upfront. McVeigh will be looking to provide competition for this position aswel as the left-hand berth.

Central Midfield - Safri is a good addition, admittedly his signature did raise a few eyebrows to start off with, but his performances in pre-season have been good, and he looks like he will be able to provide strong competition for Holt and Francis. Also, with Mulryne''s newly-found fitness, we have a few options for the centre of the park.

Left Midfield - Bentley has looked the part in pre-season, and is a hugely exciting prospect going forward. We also have Brennan, McVeigh, and possibly Hucks if needed, who are capable of playing in that position.

Strikers - Svensson and Hucks would be the favourites to fill these positions, but we have a good poacher in McKenzie, and Jarvis is gaining the strength that he lacked last year and will hopefully be given the odd chance to prove his potential. Not to mention Bentley and Jonson''s ability to play upfront.

It really is shaping up nicely! :)
