Matt Morriss 69 Posted January 9, 2009 sounds solid to me but will we see it?No.No doubt it will be Bertrand and Omozusi at full back 2moro knowing Roeder. Semmy, Doherty, Grounds and Drury looks the much better defensive back four to me.
Delia, When Do I Start?? 0 Posted January 9, 2009 ROEDER IS MORE THAN HAPPY TO PLAY PREM KIDS BUT NOT OUR OWN KIDS, OR PLAYERS IN GENERAL!!

JJ 0 Posted January 9, 2009 Little to choose between Otsemobor and Omosuzi at right-back. Neither has been consistent or impressive this season. Think Bertrand needs a rest and Drury given a go, but at least the centre-backs are a nailed on starter.
The Chirp 0 Posted January 9, 2009 as mentioned it my blog elliot isn''t up for the fight in my opinion and we cannot afford to have two younsters cutting their teeth as we enter a serious relegation dogfight. drury is a must. we need experience not boys. my team for tomorrow is this marshallotsemobor doherty grounds drurycroft clingan russell bertrand sibieski lupolisubs rudd (the boy deserves one game on the bench)omozuzipattison corthoolahan
Dion Dublin=Legend 0 Posted January 9, 2009 It''s a bit much to be slagging off tomorrow''s line-up before you even know what it is.Otsemobor looked absolutely shot to pieces when we played Forest, and Omozusi looked off the pace against Charlton, so I''m not sure we have a good option in that position right now. Drury probably deserves a place in the team for his experience, but I thought Bertrand looked fairly solid against Forest: the problems were on the other side with Otsemobor & Omozusi. Paul Spector 0 Posted January 9, 2009 Rusty is suspended I believe, so I would replace him with Matty Pattison. I would also prefer Lappin to Bertrand on the left.Harsh to leave Hoolahan out too maybe?

Canary Poirot 1 Posted January 10, 2009
Little to choose between Otsemobor and Omosuzi at right-back. Neither has been consistent or impressive this season. Think Bertrand needs a rest and Drury given a go, but at least the centre-backs are a nailed on starter.
Couldn''t agree more with this post. Drury is far superior to Bertrand defensively in every way. Granted Bertrand offers more going forward, but in these tough times, we need Drury back at left back ASAP (sorry Jas of the Barclay - I know you don''t rate Drury). As for the right back position, neither Omosuzi or Ostemobor offer stability or defensive strength on a consistent basis. Personally I rate Omosuzi higher than Ostemobor, yet both are subject to shocking errors of judgement postionally. Which is basically why both are not good enough defensively. Omosuzi has some defence - he is young and will improve. Ostemobor will not. Both rely on their pace to get them out of trouble. At times, pace is not enough, especially against better wingers. How I wish we had an Edworthy or Culverhouse at right back at the moment. Neither had pace. But positionally, and defensively, they were outstanding in comparison to the jokers we currently have. What we have today is a direct reflection of preferring "pace, strength and power" over quality, technical excellence, and knowing one''s postion. Roeder would do well to recognise this. Usually he is spot in my opinion in appraising potential signings in general, yet seems to have a huge black spot when it comes to appraising his own squad. The Chirp 0 Posted January 10, 2009 the only reason i would leave wes out is that sheff utd are a physical attacking team who i feel we need to be strong against... our best run last year was with two left backs playing left def and left mid... with rusty suspended i would put patty in and fozzy on the bench. i agree we need more experience at right back... i think semmy is better than elliot at the moment. but not by much. russell anderson from sunderland perhaps? ZLF 335 Posted January 10, 2009 Both Semmy and Omo are prone to lapses in concentration. Semmys only strength was his pace going forward and he has not shown much attacking threat in his last few appearances. Omo is generally better defending so I would stick with him.Its harder between Drury and Betrand. Both are generally excellent and Plastic does seem to be playing his way out of his lossof confidence/form in the last coupleof games. I think his crossing is better so I would stick with Bertrand today too. There is not much between the combinations to be honest so whichever 4 turn up I am wont be too unhappy, unless either Omo or Ots decide to fall asleep on the pitch again.More importantly will the midfield do its job for a change and offer some protection? Too many opponents midfielders running onto balls and scoring.
