...the passing game was realised by all, that its a route to an end...that is scoring goals. This ''passing for the sake of passing'' game, which pardon me for my ignorance, is just a substitute for dithering around without the faintest idea of how to put the ball in the back of the net is increasingly looking like its going to be our undoing. Today we had a good deal of possession with loads of interplay in close quarters, mainly at the feet of Hoolahan, but while we are dancing around, the opposition are getting all their players back behind the ball, and just sit there waiting for us to make mistakes, which inevitably we do with regular monotony.

What we need is a manager that will put his arm around a player when he makes a mistake, and build their confidence. IMO.
