grantroederdisaster 0 Posted December 28, 2008
....... does that mean that we CAN afford to get relegated? Precisely my arguement! I think it would prove cheaper to sack him now rather than leave him in charge too long!
Barclay_Boy 0 Posted December 28, 2008 what we really cannot afford, is for the current Board to stay in charge. The only transfer activity you can expect in January is Croft going out the exit door, and a couple of loan signings coming the other way. Chronic lack of investment has got us to where we are today, staring Div 1 in the face, whether we can affiord it or not, that''s what is going to happen
Dean Coneys boots 1,382 Posted December 28, 2008 No January will see us sell our best players - Marshall. Corft etc- and then buy lesser quality but spin it suitably to appease the fans...and it will just work out - so more of the same really. Truth is we have slid down the leagues by small increments- but you can see it all unfold by scrutinising the ins and outs during transfer season. The club has been assett stripping since Prem- at first thinking it was being clever - now out of desperation and lack of choiceAshton- Earny- Curo- lame donkey reigniting his career who nobody else wanted (sorry Cort)Malky- Shackell- Otsemebor- Drury...How long before Nelson is number 1? I shudder to think
Mister Chops 7 Posted December 28, 2008
....... does that mean that we CAN afford to get relegated?
Yes of course! Our £8.5m wage bill is halved overnight - we operate within our means - go back to being "plucky little Norwich" - everything''s fine - we get some premiership loanees to bolster our own eight players - beat Hartlepool home and away - it''s all good. Dean Coneys boots 1,382 Posted December 28, 2008 or we go into administration- start the season on -15, lose our gifted players and end up languisihng in the lower leagues for a generation or more...

We are a big club by Championship standards. We would be GIGANTIC by League 1 standards, the big fish in the small pond. Regional rivalry would replace Ispwich with Southend, so all angles would be covered in terms of excitement generated, and there would be new interest as we become familiar with teams we only ever seem to play in early rounds of cup competitions. Bring on Torquay, Tranmere, Bournemouth and Cambridge! (cue "We Will Rock You") (exeunt with alarums, fade to black)
Buncey 1 Posted December 28, 2008 It''s fine! Most of our players would be competing at their optimum level...
