Surely we must get the finaces right first

Recommended Posts

If as seems the gate money over a season doesn''t cover the players wages - and bare in mind we have one of the top three gates - we must either have too many players and/or be paying above the going rate for the players we have.

There is little doubt we are in a mess at the moment so lets get this piece of finance in order first. Before splashing out on prima donna players (so called big names) we need players and a manager who can spot up and coming talent and blend them into a team along with a "good negiotiator" to get the right deal.

There are some good players in the lower leagues who earn a lot less than our wage structure. Give them chance to prove themselves and form a team.

We have some good players so wouldn''t need many providing we get a manager who knows how to build a team. (Gary Johnson /Dave Jones are the sort of guys we need)

Ticket income and tv revenue alone earn the club over £10m per year, yet Doncaster states we can only afford a player budget of £4m.  Ridiculous non-football costs are the problem- the board have pumped money into projects which are draining the club of cash.
