the stump 0 Posted December 19, 2008 i think tomorrow maybe a more difficult game than we think they certainly have the players to cause teams trouble i watched them on sky monday night i feel if we score first we will win the game as their heads and confidence dropped quickley we need to win this game desperatly to move away from the bottom pack.otbc
Unhinged Canary 375 Posted December 19, 2008 Agreed! We just need to get over this ''not scoring first'' thing. I think if we score first then we could well win by a couple or 3!

Branston Pickle 4,149 Posted December 19, 2008 I''m looking forward to the game, as I always do - though of course there would be more nervous excitement if it was a big game. For me going to a game entails a 310 mile round trip/something like 6 hours of travelling + all the additional cost of petrol. The day I don''t look forward to it is the day I stop going, and will save a lot of cash in the process! Btw, did anyone see the interview with Croft on Canariesworld? He sounded well blocked up, so if he plays I would fancy him to last 70 mins tops tomorrow...one thing he did say through the sniffs was that all the contract stuff is pants, and that he hasn''t even spoken to anyone yet. Lincs CR 0 Posted December 19, 2008 and lets hope he doesn''t speak to anyone, he is a true norwich player and shoves his heart on his sleeve whenever he plays!I for one can''t wait for tomorrow''s game, this is my first time back in Lowestoft since leaving for Uni. Lincoln in September, so sadly I''ve not managed to make it to any games for money reasons.Based on reports, commentary and courtesy of Sky games, we seem to be playing more like a team and attacking with a much greater amount of flair than we used to, I can''t wait to be back in the ground and see if this is true with my own eyes :)OTBC, I fancy a win tomorrow

Houston Canary 0 Posted December 20, 2008 Deep on different levels eh?(scratches head, and then adjusts crotch - leftwards)Carry on. - BlyBlyBabesGOOD ONE! Hah, thanks for the comic relief.I always look forward to the next game. The only rime I hoped for something bad to happen, which was really something good for us, was at the end of Grant''s tenure as manager. I wanted us to lose the last couple of games so the board would ditch him. The sooner, the better. I only wished they had seen the light sooner so we didn''t have to lose those games, but knew they were too cheap to do anything until it was too obvious the guy was out of his league. What I''m wondering is why they keep bringing in Dave Stringer to justify their picks for manager. He had been dead wrong on the last 2 by a long shot. If they really value his judgement, they should ask him BEFORE they decide what he thinks. Then maybe he can make a better suggestion than the last 2 they had already signed. If he WAS asked before hand and gave a thumbs up, then his opinion''s value has dwindled down to nothing. Roeder is definitely better than Grant, and the players still seem to be on his side, so I still am hoping for nothing but success each game. When it is obvious he has lost the dressing room, then we will need a change. Until then, I am gullible enough to accept the company line. Meanwhile, we need new people in charge so he (or his replacement) have some money to spend on players we WANT, not players we have to SETTLE on.
Houston Canary 0 Posted December 20, 2008 A simple bit of fuel for the flux capacitor and happy days!! - Irish CanaryHAH! A classic I use on my students all the time. When report card grades have been turned in, and they know their grade is low, they will ask what they can do to bring it up. I will tell them they need a flux capacitor and a Delorean. As they compute this in their tiny brains, they ask with great interest and intensity what a flux capacitor is. Students familiar with the movie are already laughing. As I explain how it will allow them to travel back in time and actually DO THEIR WORK PROPERLY, they figure out that it is too late, and we all (except the dunce who chose to screw around all semester) have a good laugh. Houston Canary 0 Posted December 20, 2008 Thanks, IC.I always try to make history class intersting because I remember when I was in school everyone except me found it boring. Sometimes I make up stuff just to see if anyone is paying attention. A couple of weeks ago, while explaining how America got its name, a student asked me, "How did they even make maps back then?"I explained that the notes they took were used by cartographers to make them, and that they didn''t have aerial views like we do now with satellites. Then I added (and this just came to me at that instant) that is they wanted an aerial view, they would send their parrot up to look around, and when it landed back on the captain''s shoulder, it would say things like, "bbrrrRRraahh, there is a lake on the west side, and rrrRRRRaahhHHHaaa, the river flows from the northwest, bbBbraaahHHhaaa." Several of them were looking at me with great interest, amazed at this. A few others began laughing and pointing out that parrots only repeat what they have heard, they don''t say original things. I broke down in laughter too, and we had a good laugh. Of course, there is now the danger that when they get tested on this, all they will remember is the joke answer. Hey, I let one class shave my head yesterday because they donated the most to a Christmas charity I was collecting money for! So I am not all evil.
gazzathegreat 0 Posted December 20, 2008 Yes, really looking forward to match today. Seems a long time since the last one for some reason. Be great to meet up with the old gang and my son is just back from South Africa so will be meeting up with him and his friends beforehand and celebrating afterwards. Not sure what the result will be today, a match on paper we should win, but will nerves play a big part in determining the result? Whatever the result, we will all be there to support the team and hope they can carry on with the good work as against Ipswich.
