i thought bale was better tbh

drury is an ordinary player
he doesnt stand up to wingers, he isnt quick enough, he mistimes tackles
can cross a ball from deep though. still not enough to earn a place though

Wasnt Bale in SouthamptonsYouth Team when we got promoted and they were also a prem side? Drury is one of the best one on one tacklers i have seen play for the club, other aspects of his game may be suspect but his tackling is certainly not one of them.
he was just coming through as a player.
there were others better as well though.
and drury is solid in a tackle. he just misses them half the time. his timing is poor.

I''m not sure what player you are watching mate, his timing in the tackle is good, probably better than anyone else currently at the club. Gareth Bale also made his debut for Southampton in 2006 well after they had been relegated and was nowhere near the first team when we were playing them in the premier league, Ginger Pele was saying Drury was the best left back outside the premier league in our promotion season, i cant remmember haveing seen a better one.

It wasn''t that long ago that Drury was referred to by many as Mr Dependable, he always seemed to be in the right place at the right time defensively. With Hucks ahead of him he could not really afford to go forward much so its no small wonder that he has not developed that side of his game as much.
Bertrand goes back in January, and Adam Drury is jsut crap. Average defensivly, abysmal passing, and he''s terrible going forward. Hopefully we will get a new LB aswell as a CB
Could someone please sound the idiot alarm, another one’s appeared again.

Drury is a more than decent left back, who has spent the majority of his Norwich career playing behind Hucks, facing numerous 2-on-1 situations as Hucks wasn’t a great defender. Drury is a good defender, and had shown that for the last few years.

He hasn’t played much first team football recently, so when he comes into the side he’s not going to be a sharp as the rest of the team. He had a decent game yesterday, but wasn’t at his best as he’d hardly played during the last month or so. If he plays against Palace he will be a little sharper and have gained more match fitness.

And yes we all know he doesn’t get forward as much as Bertrand but they are different sorts of players.

Good post although people seem to be forgetting how he use to work in tandem with Huckerby going forward.

The past is the past, it doesn''t matter how well it worked in tandem with Huckerby as he is no longer here. Therefore he needed to up his game in which is hasn''t
